fencing 1987

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Done the course. It was hugely great fun. We fought with rapiers, pretty heavy stuff, see image.

That's medieval fencing. I'm back on it this afternoon.
Funny how i can now guess where quite a few of the typical Von moves came from.
medieval? I think such shape of swords appeared later...
anyway, have fun! and your remark about Von's moves was really interesting.

"Medieval" or "historical" in opposition to "modern sport fencing", that is. Rapiers are around 17th century.
I start to feel a bit "you know when you've been Eldo'ed"..........ahem....oh god I wish.

Got a point there, lachert, there has indeed been a change in style over the years......from "in-line" to "full frontal" one might say.....
I think I liked the first better.

Here's my little "in line" vs "full frontal" Von style collection, from little snippets found on the tube. What's your favorite?
Here we go:
....this particular part from Marian @OGWT definitely gets me to vote for "in-line"!
Image
...but full frontal is coming up big time, here!
Image
This most obnoxious coat in rock history spoils it all...drop it, damn....
Image
nice moves in pink light.....
Image
leg spread in white. Class!
Image
Oooh...but this one beats them all....."in line" again.
Image
Topped here by this quite flattering one....

And the winner is : "in line" (with the occasional leg spread, a plus) !!!! ****s**t, horny again****

Well in fact, on second thoughts... yes sure he looks hotter than anyone else would... It's a bit of an acquired taste though.

Well, I really don't know anything about fencing terms. My background is different - been studied history and have friends who are fans of old weapons (which is also profession of one of them).
