School's Out - Heartland August 2007 Weekender

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

It'll all work itself out, James - the McMeet will happen and people will be envious of those at that one. It all goes round and comes back again - it's the way of things.......

Last night I was in Deadwood playin' the slots

A fun night

Always good to encounter such a welcoming bunch

Mind you TimSinster was a bit down as the restrictions on cattle transportation meant his girlfriend was unable to attend

Just got back in and nearly asleep on my feet.

A great mini-meet up on Saturday afternoon at 4ish, followed by a rather excellent HL 'do' proper. Went from 9pm until about 2:20am then on, in mad taxis, back to Planet Daves. A top host and a great garden setting made for much fun and silliness. I think I've lost track of soon-to-be new catchphrases  We all stood in a field and watch the sun come up too - that was a nice moment indeed. People started eventually hitting the wall this morning and even I nearly fell asleep in the taxi to the train station

So many people, so many funny things and so much of the Heartland Effect in operation live and direct. Will download some pics etc a bit later and splash them on here.

Mainly, though, it's simply summed up by a :notworthy: to all !

That was a good couple of nights :D Good tunes. Good folks. Good times. What more d'ya want? Marvellous people HL-ers, what!

Big hugs to everyone who was there on the Friday and Saturday. And to those who are there now (lucky bastichs  ).

To those who couldn't make any of it, you missed a treat. And not just the top sight of a whole bunch of HL-ers watching dodgy telly in the Santiago on Saturday (although once people started being brave enough to cross over to the dancefloor... :D )

Wish we were there tonight. But 2 out of 3 aint bad 8)

I wondering what those heading out again tonight are like (and whether MarkFiend made it!) because I'm really struggling and I was only out for the middle of the triple

Things flooding back to me (in no particular order) are:

Bat's Milk, chocolate beer, see-saw seats, Wagamama splinter group, skin-tight strippers (was the 1/2 price token wasted?), Z's fearless nature while crossing roads, Sinnie's boots (), Jo and the Smudgey Stamp of Doom, F1 taxi, Scotty vs Tim Sinister (Open Banter Championships 2007), the Bridge of Doom, The Poking Stick Of Fire, Zuma + guitar, more wine!, more vodka!, sunrise behind the hedge, bloody goffs, potential BBQ rabbit, bunch of cnuts.....

I'm just downloading the pics from my phone and the ones at Planet Daves have come out ok but the ones at Santiago are basically pish! My phone is quite obviously s**t in the dark. There were flashes going off by the dozen though so I think that part will be easily covered. There was one group shot taken by somebody which was properly mint though - that's the beauty to wait for. I'll not be able to post my pics until I get clearance for a small number containing a little bit of Sinnie-ness (not OF her, but included in group pics)

Highlights for me (aside from the general Heartland Effect) were finally getting to meet Z & SINsister - believe the hype, folks - proper stars both!
