Parcel Band Needed - or 'why can't people speak proper?'

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

So, when someone says to you (as their parting words whilst they pinch YOUR car and leave you at home with their bloody works vehicle) 'By the way, you can't lock it' You can bet your sweet bippy the first thing that you do is show them you CAN indeed lock it...........it's only when you realise you've left your front door keys on the passenger seat that what they ACTUALLY meant was 'You MUSTN'T lock it'

I've had to drag Number Two Son 12 miles home to let me in the house. And you know what hurts even more? Last month I threw away ALL the s**t wire coat hangers.....

So, one of you jump in yer car and bring me parcel band!!!!!

presumably one of those plastic binding strips that come wrapped around large parcels, or stacks of newspapers... :?:

they're well known for being used to pop car door locks ;)

I locked myself out of a Fiesta in Wrexham maaaaaaany years ago and a traffic warden came along to see why I was loitering by the car. Without checking a single bit of my story he proceeded to pull a strip of parcel band out of his pocket and broke into my car right in front of me  :notworthy:

Must have been the only sentient traffic warden on the planet - he figured that no-one would actually want to steal a Fiesta...

I thought this thread was about some new genre of music called 'parcel' (kinda like skiffle?) and that a band was needed pronto... :urff: Oh well.

Sorry to keep you wondering, but worry no longer. I have now extracated my keys and will never again lock his door again!

I'd like to say I did it but who am I to deny a man when he offers to do it.
