I'm partial to Godspeed you Black Emperor, Faust, Alice Donut, Melt Banana, Atari Teenage Riot, David Bowie (selected periods, of course), Greenriver, early Mudhoney, Current 93, Coil, Black Flag, Swans, Jarboe, Angels of Light and more.
And, of course, Mr Blast's favourite, Throbbing Gristle.
Who do you listen to that never gets mentioned on Heartland?

You did indeed EL&P and Strawbs are being listened to too every now and then, but just not as oftenJames Blast wrote:out of the bands I've championed (Gabriel's Genesis, the Van Der Graaf Generator, Shriekback, Hawkwind, Tangerine Dream, King Crimson, Type O Negative For Greater Good and ARF!) I've so far had quite a high strike rate (mainly from a tall chap in Antverpia ) Roy Harper, The Strawbs, Mansun and Emerson Lake & Palmer seem to be the only ones that have fallen on deaf ears
The Orb & Four Tet = Only have heard one of Four Tet's albums yet though ()Hom_Corleone wrote:The Future Sound Of London, The Orb, Ozric Tentacles, Susumu Yokota, Four Tet... I likes all of them lot I does. And you lot don't....
'ckin' goffs.
Me and Koen were about to go see the Orb in July (delayed to September after that) but their gig's been cancelled
Nobody listening to Faust, GY!BE, Swans and the likes? Wonder when that last waslazarus corporation wrote:I'm partial to Godspeed you Black Emperor, Faust, Alice Donut, Melt Banana, Atari Teenage Riot, David Bowie (selected periods, of course), Greenriver, early Mudhoney, Current 93, Coil, Black Flag, Swans, Jarboe, Angels of Light and more.
My records no-one listens to: The Mars Volta (especially Frances the Mute), Sleep (just Jerusalem), The Sexual Life of the Savages (probably the best compilation ever, changed my life!), Steve Reich and all that. But probably all of you do and I'm just overlooking all that, being the musical sponge that I am

As I'm currently listening to...
Bic Runga - a lovely singer songwriter lady from New Zealand. She played in Glasgow three times last year, each show was brilliant.
Also her erstwhile support band, The Devastations - gloomy Australian rockers a la Nick Cave.

Sometimes I slip my Dadawa CD on (Sister Drum).
I was listening to it earlier & it nearly blew the fecking cones out of my speakers

Not embarrassing at all, just didn't reckon they'd be your cup of tea. Local boys Arcadia - I've mentioned them here before, a very talented bunch and nice guys too.boudicca wrote:I'm intrigued...
