Which band/artist have you seen live the most?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Rowland S Howard - about 8 times (as above  )
and lots of other lesser folk over and over....

Lee Scratch Perry: at least 5 times of which 3 times were absolutely brilliant!
Skatalites: also about 5 times. Especially when Doreen Schaeffer sings her tunes heaven is near :notworthy:
Ozric Tentacles: 4 times... I think
Zion Train: quite a few times back in the nineties, but when they went all ravey I dropped out. Nice people though.
Bauhaus: 3 times. Once on the 98 reunion tour, twice in 2006.
Mark Stewart & The Maffia: only 2 times, but for me they're the best live band around :notworthy:
And many bands I've seen a few times over the years like Sonic Youth, Mark Lanegan, Front 242, Pixies, Aphex Twin, PJ Harvey, Sophia, Orb, Orbital, etc ...

... and I was fortunate enough to have seen The God Machine, Swans & Augustus Pablo once. They're all still in my top 10 of gigs :D

Wow, I saw Therapy? six times, can't stand them now though! Another bizarre claim is 5 times for Terrorvision :) Again, in retrospect, not sure why..

10 for the Sisters, and 11 for the Mish though! (Plus a Hussey solo show).

I'm rubbish at this - I have no idea but

Julian Cope - lots
Killing Joke - lots
Puressence - lots
Chameleons - lots when they reformed
Stranglers - lots way back when but not now
Killers - lots

lots = more than 10 probably more than 15 but as I said - I'm rubbish at this

It was at the Phoenix Festival in 1995. It was possibly Bjork and not Weller headlining (that doesn't make it much better), but what I can remember for sure is immediately before PL came on (in blazing mid afternoon sunshine) Damon Albarn came on stage to announce some competition winner. He was immediately pelted with the traditional hail of litter and roundly booed by all present. Just about the only sentance he managed to get out was "Enjoy your rock music" before legging it. PL then came on and steadily drove away the majority of the audience over 45 minutes. Their final song was "The Last Time" to which Nick Holmes muttered something about how you could guarantee it would be. It really was as bad a billing as you can imagine. I think Terrovision were on next to complete the wildly contrasting afternoon's entertainment.

As to the 2 people who replied to this post saying they'd seen 147 m*****n gigs, and 90 odd Nephilim/Loud gigs. What can I say..... :notworthy: Thats true dedication.

The band I've seen live the most is New model army .I first saw them live at the '86 Reading festival and I reckon its probably getting on for 30 times and only once have I ever seen them do a crap gig.The rest have all been stormers.
Probably next would be either The Mish or Hawkwind. Together with NMA they all tour regularly, rarely give a bad gig and you just have to go, don't you?
I've seen the Girls 3 times.Once in '85 and was too wankered to remember anything about it and '93(?) and '99(?) and they were 2 of the worst, most half arsed gigs I've ever witnessed.Never ever again!
