Actually about time this thread got a bit of re-animation.
Is anyone going to have a crack at the SSV tracks or are we in complete agreement that it is, in fact, a turd of inoperable proportions?

yesterday i got my new mic and stuff so just for fun i recorded Dr Jeep. I put the mic next to my computer and this room is just wallpapers so it will get better next time, i hope .
like it or not, check this out:
http://tobiasforsner.com/download_count ... y_-_DrJeep
Some people says the vocals has some digitalerror, some crazy sound like a female voice behind the lead vocals but i've tested the song on our 2 computers here at home and it sounds ok
ok, it's not Slept but now i've got the hardware so i hope it won't be long now
And I hear nothing wrong, I have to say... There's a bit of a hissy quality maybe, but that's not necessarily an error. Could be too much hi, or something a de-esser can solve.
Can you give us some background about what gear you used? Jist one geek to another...

Maybe try Yamaha's Voice Machine instead of Cubase's de-esser. It makes for better fine-tuning.
Or try to twiddle the knobs a bit, EQ-wise. Maybe removing some high shelf does the trick just fine... (no IKEA-related comments, please! )

Stunning.
So, the offer goes again: if you'd like a wee remastering by IZ, provide me with the WAVs for best results.
All tracks I manhandle will first be presented back to the creator before being thrown at the plebs again, just to see if I did a better/decent enough job or not
Now, I had a wee look at my HLCompilation folder, and the tracks I have for the moment are:
Heartland By TheGoodSon
Lefty_-_Slept
MCAllister - Summer
NoneSuch - Slept
Still_rough_demo by ermmmm?
Tbilisi-89_-_Summer(ormdfmrush)
The Mumbles - Come Together
Will_I_Dream_-_Brad_Salyn
Crash And Burn (The Mumbles)
Crash And Burn (Syberberg)
Snubnose (Mish)
Summer (Ahrayeph)
(thanks to PrintFolder for the above list )
...of which the last four are mastered by moi (I know, a LOT to catch up on, Kinda busy )
I only stored away NEW Sisters songs, eg songs that are only played live and were never issued on CD or the like in recorded form (with the exception of HeartLand by TheGoodSon because it is a stunning version IMO, AND it is our theme music after all)
If I miss out on some, please let me know. I know our dear brer Blast kept an archive as well, mebbies he can provide the ones I lack?

And IZ does a very good job indeed when it comes to mastering. Ignore his modesty, he's bloody good.
I don't necessarily agree with everything I think.
