no booklet with floodland reissue from amazon.co.uk

ok, got the 3 cds from amazon.co.uk this week...each shrink wrapped...
all is great....open
the floodland sleeve and find.....empty envelope for booklet....er...
i assume there is booklet as per the other 2 albums????

anyone had this happen to them??

There should be a booklet. Send it back to amazon and complain.

The reissues have been a little shoddy in their (lack of) attention to detail. E.g. "Visioin Thing".

Before you send it back, write to Amazon first & ask them for the booklet.
Explain that you feel they should know there may ba a problem in the pressing/ packaging plant & thought they should know (or bullsh!t to that effect).
I did that when I got the Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me re-issue & they told me that the cost to send the cd back was prohibitive & that they would sent me another.
They sent a second copy again without the book, so I got onto the distributor (Rhino) & they eventually sent me the booklet.

Yeah, they are quite good like that.
That's more or less what they did for me, but the kmkmkm disc was available (& still never had the s0dding booklet).

So...anyone could order any (fairly cheap) cd and claim it was defective and they'd get a refund, and keep the cd? Or do they only say this because they somehow know this is a problematic item?

I only ask out of interest because defrauding them would be WRONG.

slightly off topic but the image that was originally on the lyricsheet in Floodland is left out of the reissues (the b&w one of :von:on stage head tilted backwards etc..)which is a pity cos its great.

A lot of online retailers are actually quite flexible / generous with their returns or refunds policy ... moreso than high street shops! I guess if you were to try it on, you'd probably only get away with it once or twice before raising suspicion.

i imagine you'd show up pretty quickly on their month end reports
for regular defective returns!

also note they only let me keep the item due to the prohibitive cost of them
paying the postage back from australia to uk

That is a point, but I'm guessing Amazon have already paid for the item, so band, record company, fat b@stard behing desk with cigar etc. have all probably got their cut.
However, to send a defective item, no matter how defective, is also WRONG.
If the seller deems it "prohibitive" to return the item (as the return of a defective item would be at their cost), then that's their business.
I'm certainly not going to stump up the ship a CD back to the USA or wherever & pay the insurance etc. because their quality assurance system is crap. Their mark up should cover their internal processes & so I consider it paid for.

He'll still get publishing royalties (that's a rock star's pension money that is!), but as for money from actual product sales
