has anyone here got much experience of setting up any of the main blogging applications?
eg: wordpress, movable type, expression engine, etc etc
http://asymptomatic.net/blogbreakdown.htm
basically, i need to add a "news" section to a website i do for someone
they need to be able to post news themselves, but they aren't that technical so something with a pretty simple interface would be great
ideally they would also be able to upload images for the posts - these images might also need dynamically resizing on the server, so whatever blog software i use has to be pretty extensible - the photopress addon for wordpress looks quite useful
also, the resulting posts need to be able to be incorporated into an existing page on the site (or at the very least an existing page template), so i dont want something thats basically trying to power the entire site (like expressionengine)
so, any techies or hardcore bloggersout there got any ideas?
i dont have any experience of any of that kind of software so am pretty unaware of the features and/or limitations of each one
wordpress / blogging software?

To be honest, you could pick any blogging platform, install it in a subdomain of the site, then parse the RSS feed on the news section of the main website.
