Vaya con ...Dio?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Just for the fun of it: has anyone ever noticed that the riff in When you don't see me, is almost identical with the riff in Dios Rainbow in the dark?

I kid you not - check myspace/diooffical

Ciao!

I'm fairly sure it was mentioned before (possibly by me) ... but as Heartland isn't exactly crawling with Dio fans I don't think anyone really cared.

Verdict: yikes. Then again, it *is* a pretty straightforward, uncomplicated thing, innit? Hmm.

Agreed. I bet one could find quite a few similar riffs in the history of rawk.

I liked some Rainbow tunes in my yoof... :innocent:

ETA: especially the ones with the Deep Purple-y keyboards and JLT on vocals...

throughthecables: See, the type of metal that I like generally IS dragons, fire, swords, marching through valleys to find a mystical relic, magic... power metal, pretty much, telling stories which I know can never happen for real, but in that universe, do.

I suppose that's escapism again. I know magic, dragons and heroes do not exist. But in fantasy, when set to some good music, I can imagine.

OT: Has anyone noticed that the main keyboard in Street Of Dreams sounds a little bit like the main synth riff in Europe's Final Countdown?
