----- Merciful Releases ----

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Hi.
Does anyone have the list of releases from MR, ones that include Salvation, James Ray & The Violets (and others if I've missed any)
Thanks.

How come there's no MR01, MR02 etc? Why are they numbered as they are?

Ta!

MREL 001: La Costa Rasa - Autopilot

Funnily enough, I was listening to this last night. And wondering how a mediocre rock band ended up on the Merciful Release label.

Oh ... right.  :innocent:

Wasn't there a record out on Merciful Release by one of the bands that was supporting the Sisters in 1997?

Scoda Blush (support act in 1998 Event Horizon Tour).
Was their CD ever released on MR?

That's right it was 98, my mistake!

Ah, found a little information from the Bass Players MySpace :
1994 he founded the award winning alternative band SCODA BLUSH together with drummer Jürgen Hardt und singer Roland Klein.

1996 SCODA BLUSH recorded a never released CD with
The Sisters Of Mercy-mastermind Andrew Eldritch as producer.

In 1998 the band released their second CD "Little Late" on the "Sisters-label" Mercyful Release, produced by Blank Fontana, and they supported The Sisters Of Mercy on their "Event-Horizont"-Tour in Europe.
An other never released CD-production for Mercyful Release followed, which was the death blow for SCODA BLUSH.

Also, seems to be a Scoda Blush album download Here?

the first half of that album (at least) is bloody marvellous - some great intros and samples from Aliens!

'i say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit - its the only way to be sure'

wasn't there some mention on here of an unreleased second album entitled 'the last of the baby boomers' (or was that a wind up?)

Funny you should say that. When I put it on recently I started thinking "Hey this is actually a lot better than I remembered" ... but by about track 5 or 6 it was starting to grate ... and by the time it had finished I was back to my original opinion, that it's a bit s**t.

Of course, the Impossible Dreamers. I had one of their 12"s, it was terrible as I recall. Taylor has some of them.

I assumed Damage Done was MR7 because the Original Planâ„¢ had been just to release one 7" record (to get onto John Peel's show.)

I don't think there's any connection with the "other" Merciful Release, it's just a coincidence IMO.

"Last of the Baby Boomers" was a 7 track (white label) album released by them in '87-88 ish... all the track (but one) were then re-released on the Autopilot Album...
