Just for the fun of it: has anyone ever noticed that the riff in When you don't see me, is almost identical with the riff in Dios Rainbow in the dark?
I kid you not - check myspace/diooffical

I'm fairly sure it was mentioned before (possibly by me) ... but as Heartland isn't exactly crawling with Dio fans I don't think anyone really cared.

Agreed. I bet one could find quite a few similar riffs in the history of rawk.SINsister wrote:Verdict: yikes. Then again, it *is* a pretty straightforward, uncomplicated thing, innit? Hmm.

I've got a Rainbow LP signed by Ronnie James Dio.

I liked some Rainbow tunes in my yoof...
ETA: especially the ones with the Deep Purple-y keyboards and JLT on vocals...

throughthecables: See, the type of metal that I like generally IS dragons, fire, swords, marching through valleys to find a mystical relic, magic... power metal, pretty much, telling stories which I know can never happen for real, but in that universe, do.
I suppose that's escapism again. I know magic, dragons and heroes do not exist. But in fantasy, when set to some good music, I can imagine.

OT: Has anyone noticed that the main keyboard in Street Of Dreams sounds a little bit like the main synth riff in Europe's Final Countdown?SINsister wrote:I liked some Rainbow tunes in my yoof...
