Calling Manchester and Leeds HLers

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I'm heading north to see some universities, end of october/start of november.

I'm turning up in manchester on tuesday 30th, got nothing planned for wednesday, taking a quick march up to Durham on Thursday and then into Leeds on the friday.

I might end up spending the wednesday in Leeds or Manchester, depending on how I feel.

What's the advice on sleeping quaters? Is a youth hostel the order of the day? I'm happy to have a drink with anyone thats about.

I need help seeking out the cities best record shops, but also, friday night in Leeds! What kind of goffik stuffs goes down in that town?
Nationalise the f**king lot.

In related news, I'm looking at Liverpool tomorrow and Leicester next week. Although at the moment, Glasgow's top of my list (sorry Keef), I'm open to suggestions on whether either of them are good choices, and if so, what the city life is like.

Sorry Maisey, I'll give you back your thread soon. ;)
