Extreme Lyrics Fishing

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Haha. Ok. What you're saying is basically, that you find life excruciating, and that there's nothing wrong with having a little fun and taking it easy in your one chance at life.

Well, i never minded "excruciating" and i can sleep when i'm dead.

Meanwhile, people like you, who are not selfrighteous at all as opposed to people like me, can go on destroying other people and nature as much as you like.

But don't worry, i do know how it is, after all. The thing is, that if you take part in stupidities, you will lose touch with reality and any sort of effort at 'living' will result in an excruciating and unpleasant feeling. And conversely, if you live instead of escape in mindless entertainment (and it is a euphemism to call this 'appreciation') then after awhile mindless entertainment will feel about as good as s**t on your face.

Though...ignorance, stupidity and futility are a threat to all life and perhaps that's why i find them downright offensive.

How much of the earth has been raped for the sake of idiot's entertainment? Far too much, in my opinion. How many potentially good people these same idiots have turned into likes of themselves because they are a horde and for most sensitive people an unsurmountable obstacle in pursuing a life that would be purposeful and meaningful? Far too many.

In my opinion.
You're welcome. I'll keep raping your planet for the sake of enjoying some music.
Enjoy your opinion.

I truly hope that this rant *isn't* directed at me personally, and/or you're joking, dei, because you absolutely know better. Knock it off. :von:

To be fair I 100% agree with you on this.

The thing is, I'm also in agreement with this, which dei happens to know full well. Maybe he's got a hair across it this week, I've no idea...

agree as well, but what/where's the solution?

Calm down, people! I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying good music without caring about its context as long as you don't harm anyone/anything else. It's their business- I think it's unfair to judge others based on what you want to pursue.

Back on-topic, then- Summertime!

Summer

"We’re talking at each other
Walking into walls
Walking intuition
I’ve heard it all before

But
Another shade of empty
Another shade of blue
Another shade of yellow, sunset yellow
Another shade of you
Can make it summer
Can make it shine

It’s raining in the doorway
You’ve met your face once more
Wave the walls to rain down
I’ve seen it all before

I say
Another shade of empty
Another shade of blue
Another shade of yellow, sunset yellow
Another shade of you
Can make it summer
Can make it shine"

Summer was pretty easy as well. A few things uncrtain:

-"Walking intuition" during the London '03 Forum gig version Andy sings
something like "walking into whispall" which I can't make sense of. But in
the other versions I've heard he sings "intuition". So I guess it's fine.

-"It’s raining in the doorway
You’ve met your face once more
Wave the walls to rain down"

This part is most undertain, I think "It's raining in the doorway" is certain, but
"You've met your face once more" sounds like "You'd break your pace once more" during the version Maisey gave me. And "wave the walls to rain down" sounds like "Brave the walls who rain down" there.
Maybe it's like with Slept; :von: hasn't decided aout the right lyrics yet...

I'm warming up, so here's one more:
Tidal wrote: War on Drugs

(??? Version)

I’ve been at home, at the temples that mark the walls
Where the tic-tic hazards I wasn’t ready for
I could hear you’re pretty from the shadow of the sun
Assumption is a supervised man I have called

Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Wahee
Assumption is a supervised- let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Come on let’s do the war on drugs
‘Cause it’s better
Better if- better

I got mouth I could take to talk with you again

Don’t make the course change
I’m sure you’re sane

Assumption is a supervised man I have called
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Assumption is a supervised- let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Now, let’s do the war on drugs
Wahee
And the parts down with- let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Assumption is a supervised- let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s calm this- let’s do the war on drugs
Wahee
Attention right now- let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs

Right, my, our enclosing, let’s do the war on drugs

(Maisey Mix version)

We’re breaking out, it’s just entrance to white on the rail
Abuse the passions
A one-way game
Our elbowed latter in the shadow of the shrine
Assumption is a supervised man I have called

Waheeee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheeee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Assumption is a supervised
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs

I’ve been holding a snake truce- why jump the rails
Don’t need to platter born evils
Go to hell with the dreader the shadow of the shrine
Assumption is a supervised man I have called

Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Assumption is a supervised- let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Come on we come, let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Assumption is a supervised-let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Wahee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Assumption is a supervised- let’s do the war on drugs
While we
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs
Waheee
Let’s do the war on drugs

A junction she loves red
Let’s do the war on drugs
Insanely hard to hear on both versions, a lot like Slept. This time I'm completely oblivious to the real lyrics,
there are more like guesses. Impossible to hear. Until I get a good quality version of Slept/War on Drugs I cannot provide reasonable lyrics for these two.
DONT JUMP ON ME FOR THE LOUSY WOD LYRICS! IT'S JUST TOO HARD TO HEAR!

Yup, and here's the real War On Drugs:
looking out the morning I can see the trees, turn orange in the rays
don't need the smell of incense, in the morning haze
head on down the delta, in the shadow of the sun
seven shades of shiva rising, I am come

wah-hoo
let's do the war on drugs
wah-hoo
let's do the war on drugs
seven shades of shiva rising
let's do the war on drugs

looking out the morning I can see the trees, turn orange in the rays
don't need the smell of incense, in the morning haze
head on back to Kirkstall, in the shadow of the sun
seven shades of shiva rising, I am come

wah-hoo
let's do the war on drugs
wah-hoo
let's do the war on drugs
eleven (... /ten /nine /eight /seven) shades of shiva rising
let's do the war on drugs
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Of late I haven't had much time to spend on Lyrics Fishing, but soon there will be more- and I can say I also have realised about a few earlier lyrics I posted, that they weren't correct. Since I have gathered quite a few oter versions of most songs now, I was for example able to discern in Good Things the line "nothing mean or underhand" instead of "nothing meal..."
Same goes for most of FALAA. In the weeks to come I will have more time to spend and might review my previous lyric posts.

If all of us were enthusiastic young people, we would all be doing silly things like that. But The Sisters are old, and most of use are old. Just a thought.

it's "walking into wishful" . :von:
Well I was handsome and I was strong

"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

As promised, I've resumed fishing. Today: Romeo Down.

I listened to three versions I have, and there were differences. The sound was reasonable, so I should be pretty close to what it really should be.
I decided not to check any other sources for improvement- that will be done after I'm done with the New Songs section, and then the whole bunch will be refined.

It’s just a hard eight
Leather
In a small apartment
Leather
In another life, another heart
In another life, another heart
Wanna live all under statues
Your mother in a robber’s hand
TV yes turn the TV on and wait
‘till the night is over
‘till the morning’s come
‘till the morning’s come
‘till the morning’s come
Lay ‘till the morning’s over
Over over over over over over over
‘till the morning’s come
‘till the morning’s over

Somebody call
Somebody call
Somebody ring the phone in another home
No problem home
Another home

In a home you go for understanding
His mother in a robber’s hand
TV yes turn the TV on and drink
‘till the morning’s over
‘till the morning’s gone
sleep ‘till the morning’s over
over over over over over over over over over
‘till the morning’s gone
‘till the morning’s gone

Call me over
Call calling on

And a Romeo wore understatish
You wiggle in a robber’s hand
Cheney yet turn the TV on and wait
‘till the night is over
wait
‘till the night is over

Somebody call
Somebody phone
Somebody bring the roof in another home

Another home
Another home
Wait ‘till the night is over
And a Romeo wore on this stattape
His brother in a bomber’s hand
Cheney yet turn the TV down and sleep
‘till the night is over
‘till the night is gone
Sleep ‘till the night is over
‘till the night is gone
Sleep ‘till the night is over
‘till the night is gone
‘till the morning come
‘till the morning come
sleep ‘till the night is over

Romeo down

‘till the night is gone
Wait ‘till the night is over
Over over over over over over over
‘till the night is gone

And a Romeo more under staccio
His brother in a bomber’s hand
TV yet turn the TV on and sleep

After taking a look at the three results and attempting to make something out of it this became the finalized, but unrefined version:

Romeo Down

"It's just a heartache

And a Romeo more under statues
You giggle in a robber's hand

Hi Tidal! If you look at the official site you can find the lyrics for Romeo Down there. You can see that they differ slightly from your version. Nice effort though.
