Finding a hostel in Leeds

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Help!

I need to find a good cheap youth hostel in Leeds at short notice. YHA don't have one so I'm not sure who to use.

I'm visiting the uni, so it needs to be walking distance...

They knew what they were doing when they called it "higher" education - I spent 4 years at Leeds Poly enjoying some of the finest...um...herbage, courtesy of a very very nice man in Skipton (hi Rob!).

The Morley, at Woodsley, too, if I remember correctly. Andrew S, a few others and I stayed there several times (different landlords each time), and always had a great time and excellent British breakfast. :notworthy:

:oops: Since I was studying a non-fashionable subject (Manufacturing Engineering), the library at the time didn't have enough depth of books to adequately cover a project we were working on. Naively assuming cross-University co-operation, we trundled in and tried to look at - not even take out - the odd book or-two. How silly of us :eek:

Anyway, we did eventually get the necessary material - but it (and my sisters' attitude who did Geography up there) tainted my opinion of the place.

Update: She's now on £36k+ at 31 years old, I'm on £Considerably Less and older :?
