Doctor Jeep & Sandstorm EastWest single '93

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Hi mates,
At first - sorry, couldn't decide would it be in the Trading topic or here... :innocent:
Well, my question is - could anybody tell me a story behind that item:
The CD single "Doctor Jeep" and "Sandstorm" released by EastWest (with no Merciful Release logo) in 1993?
It has no jewel case - just a grey cardboard cover with title "cdBACKtrax".
2 pics:

So - that was my question - why, how etc this one was released?
Promo? For what - A Slight Case...?

And another topic would be - I have (due to a misunderstanding) 2 copies (i. e. not copies but original CD-s) of this.
So it is to swap for any other Sisters item (not for sale).
Unfortunately I havn't got the final answer from another collector to whom I offered it... But I hope to get the answer soon...

yes, only this one.

What I can't understand... why Doctor Jeep and Sandstorm. It's not like they are two of the best Sisters songs...

I've got a feeling backtrax also released a very badly-produced interview with Eldritch on some picture disc 7-inchers (oo-er) in a crappy plastic presentation wallet; I know these things actually exist, but I may be wrong about them being on backtrax.
