Body Electric 84

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Is it just me or does the whole volume level drop after the first big scream?
I remember it on the ep & I recently came by a flac vinyl rip which does the same.
Fcukin' irritates the hell out of me.
Cheers.

It's not just you.The vinyl version of On The Wire does something similar, sounding a bit like an early fade out then somebody changes their mind.

I didn't notice that one.
But I love the BE 84 version, except for the drop in levels at 2.30-ish.
Would be nice if they could fix it & release a fixed version huh?
Cheers.

yeah, that has always bugged me too...simply because i can't understand how it made it to the final mix, especially with eldritch being notoriously obsessive about studio output.

hadn't noticed the similar thing on "on the wire" though pat, and i've got two copies of the 12". however, there also seems to be an error (possibly in the pressing) with "afterhours", with two fat, loud clicks towards the end. three of us had it in the same place on individual copies.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Funny that, I've always been aware of On The Wire, but had never noticed the Body Electric thing...
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

BE84 might have been fixed on one of the digitally remastered SBWBM, if someone could have a listen ?

[geek mode on]It's more likely to have happened during mastering than mixing and might have been done to avoid any clipping that might have been there in that part of the song.[geek mode off] I'll spare you any further boring details...unless you really, really need to know more.
I don't necessarily agree with everything I think.

Anybody noticed the small guitar-mistake in the guitar-riff on the original Alice single? Someone pointed it out to me and ever since I can't listen to the track without noticing. Really irritating....

When they started playing the song? Yeah, that was a mistake alright...

Says he who's never even heard it, but it was too good a joke to pass up

While we are on the subject.
Today I was listening to Zerox - Adam and The Ants and to my untrained musical ear there is the blueprint for BE,........ especially the original
'I have reason to believe' he said, 'that one of you has been going out at night!'
