It's a year today since I lost my best friend in the world - my mom - to ovarian cancer. I'm still amazed that I made it through the past year without losing my mind entirely/requiring involuntary hospitalization, but I guess I'm a bit stronger than I thought (that remains to be seen, though, of course). So I'm currently raising (what's left of) this bottle of Heineken to my dear momma, now; I expect I'll be raising quite a few more beverages in her honor this evening...
I miss you, my dearest mommy - and I hope you're happy and at peace, or something like it, wherever you may be. \m/

She must have been a fantastic lady, to have produced another fantastic lady. Kudos to her, and hugs to you.
If your mum was anything like you, then she must have been really something.
My Newky Brown ration for this month (can't get it here, so I have a few bottles to ration over the year) will be quaffed for your mum.
cheers...

I can and can't imagine (at the same time) how tough it must have been Sinny, I love my wee mum to bits and god knows I don't look forward to the time she's gone. But I also know she never really will be - because the foundation she helped give me is a part of who I am... the most solid part, the part that remains intact even if everything else falls to pieces, the part that always bounces back and is the magnet to pick those other pieces back up. I think you have that inside you too - even if you lose sight of it sometimes, you'd be a drastically different human being if it really wasn't there.

"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
