England

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

So that means lots of 1-0 wins then?
Score early on & then defend for the remaining 80mins
Cheers.

yes...it could be true, but it's better win 1-0 than loose 3-4 on your own fields against Croatia :innocent:

I know it's a bit late, after Sven and all, but am I being old-fashioned in thinking that the England football team should have an English manager?
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

Considering the lack of talent in the squad isn't this a bit of a poisoned chalice?

the lack of talents isn't important in foot-ball...in the field they are 11 and they should play as a team...not as single player ;D
and Capello can give to 11 eleven good players the look of a good team....an exsample of a team was the Italy at the last world championship...no great players but 11 good foot-ballers playing as a team

is that actually what you mean? for some of our incontinent cousins what thay oftime may call a "trainer " to us Engels enders is really a running shoe/plimsole/flip flop (rubber espadrilles).
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

PLUS a ref that decided the match against the Aussies for them.....
PLUS a Zinedine going totally crazy......
Maybe blind LUCK has also got to do with their 2006 performance....

Italy is very result minded where other teams also try to play the game by aiming at goals instead of defending. But yeah.....congrats with all the good results and good that you keep all these boring matches for granted.

As for England: The nation that invented soccer will have to play the game the way they won't like it....i.e. the Italian way. Enjoy!

Altho after today's debacle against Arsenal (and Gallus scoring) i'm gonna say Nowt!
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.
