It most certainly does and it most certainly does not! - There are "meets" in the UK - in Bristol - on Thursday 9th October - but nothing in Wales.
I guess the Welsh are just to damn *cough* "(*&*&^(&^((&*^&(" to want to discuss "Laughing Lenny"
Thanks for the info - your a star!

I did think of organising a Laughing Lenny Day - but since I only have 1 close friend who likes Cohen as much as I do - it would not be a very good turn out!
All the other friends and associates I have consider Leonard Cohen to a be very depressing B***ard and to be best avoided! - They, of course have NEVER heard any Cohen!
Not even Mrs Goth will allow me to listen to more than a few Cohen tracks - and she is huge Cure fan! - Now IMHO the Cure are depressing

The Cure? Depressing? I have been known on occasion to get misty eyed when listening to Robert Smith warble, but that's only when I've got a broken heart! Otherwise, I don't think they're depressing.

the higher mix of the cures high,is in my top 5 of most uplifting tunes ever(that ive come accross to date that is).thats down to the tune however for me,the lyrics take a back seat there.
as for lenny, great things from little acorns grow.
ive not looked into him in real earnest, but am quite curious now.you certainly seem quite passionate about his music and anything that can inspire to that extent deserves looking into.
hows about a few songs as a starting point eh?
ive been nussying myself with mogwai, arab strap, three colours red, black label society and of course the darkness ,lately.cant get hold of most of the arab strap stuff at the mo due to unwilling share ware users .
oh yeah, reacquainting myself with The Prodigy as we speak to.
Kieth Flint another top performer

I first 'loved' Alice Cooper when I was too young to even know what a crush was.
Now I'll just list my random lusts: (and it's not aesthetics...it's that 'x' factor'
Jimmy - Puressence
Hugh Cornwell - The Stranglers
Joe Strummer - The Clash
Frank Black - The Pixies
Kim Deal - as above
Perry Farrell - Jane's Addiction
Huey - Fun Lovin whatsit (even now Karin, I'd still 'do' him)
Billy Duffy
Ian Macculloch
Robert Smith
Eddie Izzard (oooh he's not a singer, drummer OR bassist)
Roger Daltry (Tommy phase mainly)
Mark E Smith (oh heck)
Ian Brown - well you have to go for a brooding sarcky Manc at some point...
The accordianist in the Pogues
Caitlin thingy(Costello) from the same
Kurt Cobain
ooooh Nick Oliveri - QOTSA
Trent Blimmin Reznor
am I boring you know?
I have more.....I've got to that age I suppose....LOL

Still a distinct lack of the finer sex here. Someone mentioned Tori Amos. Anyone going to confess a sneaking admiration for PJ Harvey in pink PVC? Or, worse, an embarrassing little desire for Melanie Blatt or the violent one out of Girls Aloud?
I would, but I'm above these things...

hmm, I haven't posted on this thread, but seeing as you mentioned it, PJ Harvey's last appearance the cover of "Q" was pretty lush.MrChris wrote:Still a distinct lack of the finer sex here. Yup, it's all about PJ harvey for me. Kinda liked Shirley Manson before she got crap hair. Erm, and Sinead O Conner, most of Tuuli, Siouxsie, Julianne Reagan in a big way, most of the Applicators, Sean Yseult for a while (looking back I have no idea why - maybe it's a bass thang), Paz from APC/Zwan....erm, and probably loads more.hallucienate wrote:hmm, I haven't posted on this thread, but seeing as you mentioned it, PJ Harvey's last appearance the cover of "Q" was pretty lush.MrChris wrote:Still a distinct lack of the finer sex here.
