Movie Recommendations

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

One would be surprised they ever made films out of his junk in the first place... but I suppose some marketing geek thought "Hmmm... people buy graphic novels. If I make a film based on a ..."

Good Films:
Heat
Sabrina (The Bogart/Hepburn one)
The Big Sleep
Dark City (I know it's goffy, but it's too neat an idea, has J. Connelly and Sutherland...)
An Ideal Husband
Dangerous Liasons

To be Honest, given how ridiculously bad the 3rd Matrix movie was, I can't imagine how the Wachowskis thought that making another movie would be a good idea. First two were decent.
Flowers on the Razor Wire.

Watch The Devils Rejects!!!! :notworthy:
I saw Devils rejects, I was dissapointed. But probably cause I heard so much hype about it being so awful. It wasnt that awful, in my eyes.. But not a bad movie, would like to see the first one, house of a thousand corpses or something like that?

Just came back from seeing "Air Guitar Nation" - it was excellent! Very funny, great characters to follow through it and you really find yourself quickly drawn into it like any good documentary. It almost doesn't matter what the film is about.

Taking Liberties - it should be part of the curriculum.

Is that a film or a general outlook on life? :innocent:

My last good-ones:

Memento

A strange and backward running story about a guy who's losing his short term memory - unfortunately somewhat predictable but still worth a recommendation

This is England

Back to the 80s - a very charming movie about friendship and different attitudes - guess it's already a definitive book @ uk^^

That's a terribly good film that! Wicked acting, brilliant soundtrack and a story to knock a few teeth out. Class :D :notworthy: :notworthy:

I'd recommend Control. Even if you're not a complete Joy Division afficionado... I'm tempted to say: Wicked acting, brilliant soundtrack and a story to knock a few teeth out. Class ;D :notworthy: :notworthy:

Pan's Labyrinth is still lying here unwatched. I need to see that soon!

I have... heavy! (soundtrack by Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk!)
Still, La Haine is the better film of the two imho.

didn't watch anything "new" new last year but I did enjoy:
Driving in Cars with Boys - a chickflick, stab me
24hr Party Peeps - cheers Big Yin, it's one of my all-time faves now
and I'm still knocked sideways everytime I watch

So did I. Very dull IMO.

he was also in Oceans 12 and 13 according to IMDB but I ain't seen either of them. He's a great actor though. Preferably when acting in his own language though.
And he's married to Monica Bellucci - lucky man. :P
