Nice tip about the sandbags ... I'm more worried about what comes bubbling up from the drains and the subsequent RATS - Do none of you lot have these charming little critters around you too? On a more serious bit: If your house/flat is in danger of getting wet: Sandbag walls work. But only if you don't fill the bags over two thirds.
Plumply filled bags will roll away and cause gaps in the sandbagwall.

I saw two bigger high waters of river rhine when working for them. The good news may be that rivers that rise fast will drop fast as well, so let's hope for the best for all of you.
