Rhombus mentioned in Bizarre Mag!

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Only briefly but hey, its a mention innit. Its in the live reviews section (page 115 if you wanna have a quick scan in your local newsagents) on about a gig on the 20th October in Bedford. Its someone's review of the night.

As I can't do scanning or anything I'll write it...

"My very first time at a proper goth get-together and truly fantastic! I met all sorts of weird, wonderful people. Two bands on, Rhombus and Aura Noctis, both very impresssive." 8)

And the funnest thing is, the girl who posted it is called Samantha, (http://www.myspace.com/samanthacurley) yet, it was another Samantha that was pictured in the article!!

Strange, but if you look at her musical tastes, they don't exactly cry out goth do they! I'm all for diversity, but why are the younger goths of today simply not into goth?

Because for a lot of the new goths, it's more about how you dress rather than what you listen to? The same thing has happened to punk as well. Teenage rebellion neatly packaged as a "lifestyle choice", brought to you by the marketing department. Yet another victory of style over substance...or so it seems.
I don't necessarily agree with everything I think.

Because some of us younger goths appreciate the value of losing yourself in a KLF record, or grooving to a Trashmen bird beat, as well as moping in the darkness. ;)

As I said, having a wide choice of music is great, but in terms of supporting your local goth club, there's nothing worse than having all these great looking young goths attend only to find all they want to hear is Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, Cradle Of Filth, Evanescence, Within Temptation and My Ruin!
