Is it just me, but the weather sure ain't as it should be for January? (or February either)? The 'news' seems to be reaching new heights (?!) - or should that be depths? I feel like I'm watching a car crash in slow motion - and I want to 'change channels', but it is reality and I can't ...

People have been predicting the end of the world for (at least) 2000 years. Hasn't happened yet.

While climate change is a reality, I don't buy into the new millenarianism built up around it. OK, we may well kill ourselves off, but life will survive. Life survived the Permian extinction and there's no way we'll generate anything that bad... I hope.
