I'm guessing Switzerland? I can't remember why but I thought that was where alice is from Perhaps I'm getting mixed up though... sorry!
If it is in Der Schweiz I am sooooo there - can't think of a better place to spend the wintertime. Fondue, chocolate, apres ski and an extremely high standard of everything as far as I recall, what more can you ask for?

What this place rather needs is a proper bombing..........Home ? Doesn't feel like one...anyway, this carcrash of a town is Geneva , home to banks, insurances, old people, SUV's and suits. Geneva, where the third age meets the bourgeoisie in an all englobing athmosphere of triumphant capitalism ans calvinistic ascetism. Don't go there. Except if you happen to land here and head straight for the Alps, that sort of saves it.Andie wrote: wreck it a little...you know...break it in a bit!
Ah, and it has got a lake.

Mother Nature may have been kind to our hometown, but you couldn't tell under the soot.
Superb decor, Alice.

To some extent yes, a change of scenery is much needed. But it used to be a lot more fun, and every little cool place has been shut, so currently it's absolutely dull, if you compare...And the visual scenery described above is absolutely accurate.
There are cool places, some nice bars, the skiing IS great indeed, bunch of cool friends. But it's just too hard facing the everyday NORMALITY.
Where's your punishment Bouddica?
Makes me think : a Heartland skiing outing is something that does indeed sound like a lot of fun.

Grim old Glasgow. You see?alice wrote: Where's your punishment Bouddica?
And let it be known that, although I have spent almost a year of my life on holidays in the Alps, I cannot ski to save myself!

I have heard many expressions levelled at my 'dear green place' but never 'peculiar'. You're not one of them Foriegns by any chance are you?
PS. I'm trying to find that black book for you, it might be in storage as I had it in work and work moved whist I was off. Some of the boxes ended up in a different building, in a different town, in a nasty part of Lanarkshire. I don't want to go there.
