no 1. Sisters cross-dressed gig?
I remember i saw some thingy about this somewhere on the net...But don't know for certain.
It was really happened??
no 2. Father Von Eldritch???
Always been suspected that he was a catholic boy, But Is it true his mother wants to makes him a *real* catholic boy?
I mean, erm, the priest!!!
Both are very unimaginable scene.
Just curious two questions.......

AFAIK that gig didn't take place
the cross dress gig was much earlier in the year, I think the Sheffield ( from memory gig? ) mentions something along the lines "thanks to all those who came to see us in dresses last night " . I also have a review of the gig somewhere which dates it accuratly, will try to find.
as for Catholic, still haven't confirmeed this, though strangely was reading a clipping last night where he was banging on about his Grandmother telling him their was only one God and the others were all fake. He alledges he was about 4 or something, and that is waht turned him off religion
sorry for typo's bit busy at the mo' no time to check what i've typed
Just remember this. This rabble you keep talking about does most of the working, paying and dying in this community.
Von said that at the Norwich gig (21/4/83) and they played in Manchester the night before.khepri II wrote: AFAIK that gig didn't take place

There is a Canadian interview from 1990 where Andrew states that his mother always thought he'd be a bishop and that it was a shame he wasn't born catholic because he wanted to be a cardinal since the clothes were much better.

Andrew's family were High Anglicans, which is sort of midway between Catholic and Protestant - nice pretty churches with statues etc but no allegiance to the Pope.
There you go- 500 years of theological argument dismissed in one sentence. It's a lot more complicated than that really but you get the idea.

Eldritch would make a good catholic cardinal.
Notice the red and black clothing, the silver jewelry. These guys look cool as hell, even better than satanists. If it wasn't for that chastity vow thing i would be a cardinal too.
On High Anglicans - protestants trying to regain some of the mysticism and intense spirituality of Catholicism (again, twenty heresies probably contained in that sentence, but you get the gist) - their most famous convert, perhaps, was T S Eliot. Who got all religious around the time of the Four Quartets (Von's favourite poems) onwards. Small world.

I'd pay to see that. In my age you don't get as much excitment anymore. (That's because friends are very, very dull?Scardwel wrote:The Sisters performed in drag at the Hacienda in Manchester in 1983. There is an audio bootleg of this floating around but there ain't a video (thank god!)

Another one to go to "what question would you ask Eldritch". Nowadays I don't believe a word that doesn't come from his mouth and I prefer to hear the recording to check it's not irony.Catholic boy??? Never heard this one before.

Yeh, that's the one. Somewhere towards the end, you've got Von with a beard and a dress.Big Si wrote:Which page? There's nothing in mine!mh wrote:There's a photo of the drag gig in the old italian lyric book.
That's not a dress, it's a t-shirt with the arms and sides ripped open. I've seen a bigger and better pic before in Andrew Pinnel's Heartland Vol. 1mh wrote:Yeh, that's the one.
