You know you're something special,
And you look like you're the best

That's bad news.
Wasn't that hit "One night in Bangkok" from Power Station?

You're born alone, you die alone, and in between you spend your time seeking company and validation in the eyes of others.
'Tis all one and the same at the end, the stench of putrid flesh and relaxed sphincters...
Ah pay me no heed, I've a head full of wine and a gutful of bile, making me more dour, if such a thing were possible, than usual.

The hit "One Night In Bangkok" was a hit for Murray Head and is taken from the stage musical "Chess" - another 'Andrew Lloyd Webber' production if memory serves

Although I've never been his biggest fan I'm shocked firstly because he was just 54.And that is way too young for someone who's spent most of his/her life decently to die.
He had a marvellous voice, some great pop-rock songs and was a truly gentelman.
Oddly I was listening to his 1995's "Best Of" album yesterday.Very weird!
R.I.P. Robert Palmer

addicted to love? addicted to cocaine more like...
"contradictions are meaningless, there's nothing to betray"
ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson were co-writers of that hit stage musical's score. They made music while Tim Rice wrote lyrics.pikkrong wrote:Wasn't it written by Andersson and Ulvaeus - i. e. the authors of Gimme Gimme Gimme?AndyTheGoth wrote:@ Dead Insidedead inside wrote:That's bad news.

The story involves a romantic triangle between two players in a world chess championship, and a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other.
And to return to "Gimme Gimme Gimme(A Man After Midnight)"(1979) song, like Andrew,I too think it is the best song that ABBA have ever done.It is very unlikely to them. Its intro is gorgeous.
