Crap. And I say that in full recognition that the original wasn't exactly a staggering work of heartrending genius either.
Also, I didn't think it was possible for a singer to sound like a bigger wuss than Fat Bob, but I stand corrected.

I dunno, I kinda liked it. It's trashy. The female vocals are pretty good, if standard fare. But it would be nice (on their other songs) if she would stop trying to sound American though, she winds up sounding like a cross between Pink and Avril Whatsherface. Which is not necessarily, a Good Thing. I expect them to do extremely well on the high school circuit in the States.
I don't necessarily agree with everything I think.

Exactly. It's a very straight cover, isn't it?ormfdmrush wrote:oh, they've just distorted bass and guitars
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

So, what were you listening to at that age Sinnie?

Not that you asked me, but at that age I was listening to the Misfits. Oddly enough, I still am. Gloriously stupid, but something about Earth A.D. seems very appropriate for a warm spring day.reactiv8 wrote:So, what were you listening to at that age Sinnie?

I saw them live a while ago. Didn't think much to 'em. Then again they were on after NYAAA and I was in deep shock...

yes, even this lot, briefly (go ahead and laugh, I don't care! ):

ETA: I was listening to most of these folks from junior high school (around age 12-13) through high school and beyond, actually...

Oh, aye.Eva wrote:Sinnie! You listened to Icehouse? So did I, and I still think their first three albums are great! Really a vastly underrated band outside Australia...
Thank goodness for the early days of MTV (you know - back when they actually played music ), or I'd probably not have found out about them until years later!
Ol' Iva (Ivor, actually) was awfully easy on the eyes back then, too...

- I got you - that's all I want
I won't forget - that's a whole lot
I don't go out - now that you're in
Sometimes we shout - but that's no problem
I don't know why sometimes I get frightened
You can see my eyes, you can tell that I'm not lyin'
Look at you - you're a pageant
You're everything - that I've imagined
Something's wrong - I feel uneasy
You show me - tell me you're not teasin'
I don't know why sometimes I get frightened
You can see my eyes, you can tell that I'm not lyin'
There's no doubt - not when I'm with you
When I'm without - I stay in my room
Where do you go - I get no answer
You're always out - it gets on my nerves
I don't know why sometimes I get frightened
You can see my eyes you can tell that I'm not lying

I have a lovely (and I use that word advisedly) BBC recording of them live - 55mins or so of SE (when they happened, for a bit):
I Got You
One Step Ahead
Shark Attack
etc.
a guid pop band
*it's on cassette, taped right there, right then.. does that help?
