That Iraq War Thread

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Is what Syberberg said. The forces don't train people to be nutcases. And the chances are they would appreciate some guidance, rules and understanding of loyalty. Alot of people who come out of the forces feel very lost in the outside world.

we should give corporations the finger
because private companies never gave the world anything useful, like the light bulb, television, affordable home computers or efficient delivery of commodity services, and they certainly shouldn't be rewarded if they did.

Nor should they be allowed to campaign for changes in out-dated legislation which affects their business growth, and they should just up and take it, because they don't get an opinion.
kill the monopolies
except the ones controlled by the government, because its always better to have a government-run monopoly controlled by elected officials, than, say people with Business Administration degrees.
and for heaven's sake stop looking at American for anything for once!
Absolutely, there's nothing to be learned from there; in fact it sucks so badly, the US has a huge problem with net emigration. California is expected to be emptied within the next decade, its such a bad place to live.

was that dry enough? :D new thread anyone? j/k j/k...

- Yep, a balance of men and women - lest we forget we share the planet.

- Private companies/Corporations love to feed you the line that they're doing us a favour - but the bottom line is profit. People have to make a living for sure, but don't dress it up as doing everyone a favour or that it's for the greater good. This is what makes people disillusioned, angry and selfish in the end.

- I don't mind monopolisation (new word!) as long as those who do don't exploit it. But most of them do.......

- For my part, I said American junk culture. The UK is becoming saturated with it for a quick fix. When will we learn that a quick fix solves nothing?

A new thread!? This one's become a rope!

Q. What's the difference between the US and a pot of yoghurt?
A. If you leave a pot of yoghurt for 200-some years you'd expect it to develop a culture.

Suits me - while you're at it, take McD's, Burger King, Wendy's, Friends, and the Special Relationship. We'll take Monty Python and Wallace & Gromit back, but you can keep your infatuation with that dozy blonde tart who died in a car crash in Paris in '97. Call it our gift to you.

Only if you promise to take back Pop Idol and give us back the several trillion dollars you owe us for saving your ass in WWII.

Will you be wanting to keep the internet and microchip? :)

You can keep the internet, but we'll keep the World Wide Web - thanks, Mr. Berners Lee. 8) Pop Idol you can keep - you get way more into it than anyone else anyway.

We're parlaying what we owe you from the Big 2 against what you owe us from 1776.

Hey, we won 1776, so you owe us! I'll put it on the tab.

As for WWW.... that was invented in Geneva, so belongs to the Swiss

Already paid back the $6billion lent to us after the war by the US in 2006. Tough luck. ;D

So while it may have been implemented in Geneva, it was invented by an Englishman - so it's ours. Incidentally so's the jet engine. Have fun!

I though he was referring to the fact that Mr. Berners Lee is British. If we're taking credit for other countries inventions, I'll take writing, thank ya!

And sushi.

As it turns out he was! Good for us. Now if we could get top speeds for everyone..... But as usual we're behind ourselves. And I don't mean self love here.....

We'll settle for ours: television, steam power (you can have the internet, but unless you're off the grid good luck powering your computer without that one), the postal service, the spinning jenny (naked Americans - uuuuugh...), the internal combustion engine, loo roll, smallpox vaccines, and Viagra.

That's one dark, cold, smelly, stay-at-home sexless world.

Ok, enough is enough.

We invited rock'n'roll.

And punk.

I'll be expecting all your CD collections delivered to the US Embassy by the end of tomorrow.

We shall, of course, allow you to keep Brit Pop :D

No worries - you can keep your rock n'roll. We'll still have The Sisters.

Game, set, & match.
