AFAIK that gig didn't take place
the cross dress gig was much earlier in the year, I think the Sheffield ( from memory gig? ) mentions something along the lines "thanks to all those who came to see us in dresses last night " . I also have a review of the gig somewhere which dates it accuratly, will try to find.
as for Catholic, still haven't confirmeed this, though strangely was reading a clipping last night where he was banging on about his Grandmother telling him their was only one God and the others were all fake. He alledges he was about 4 or something, and that is waht turned him off religion

Von said that at the Norwich gig (21/4/83) and they played in Manchester the night before.
There is a Canadian interview from 1990 where Andrew states that his mother always thought he'd be a bishop and that it was a shame he wasn't born catholic because he wanted to be a cardinal since the clothes were much better.
Andrew's family were High Anglicans, which is sort of midway between Catholic and Protestant - nice pretty churches with statues etc but no allegiance to the Pope.
There you go- 500 years of theological argument dismissed in one sentence. It's a lot more complicated than that really but you get the idea.
Eldritch would make a good catholic cardinal.
Notice the red and black clothing, the silver jewelry. These guys look cool as hell, even better than satanists. If it wasn't for that chastity vow thing i would be a cardinal too.
On High Anglicans - protestants trying to regain some of the mysticism and intense spirituality of Catholicism (again, twenty heresies probably contained in that sentence, but you get the gist) - their most famous convert, perhaps, was T S Eliot. Who got all religious around the time of the Four Quartets (Von's favourite poems) onwards. Small world.
