We should do a Top Ten... to choose just one song is kind of impossible... right now I would say:
The Jesus and Mary chain - Here it comes
The Jesus and Mary chain - Here it comes
Right now it will be:
Afterhours - The Sisters Of Mercy (1984)
(the haunting 7 minutes long extasy)

Just remember this. This rabble you keep talking about does most of the working, paying and dying in this community.

Did a similar thing with my 77-79 germany school chums (5 male/2 female), ie pick your fave songs from that era. Ended up with a pretty eclectic mix of Clash, Pistols, Skids, Thin Lizzy, Golden Earring, Ram Jam, Pink Floyd, Rose Royce, Steve Harley etckhepri II wrote:Ace idea, I have all so farJohnny Boy wrote:And once we've got enough for a double CD, all we need is a volunteer to source and burn the tracks.Jim wrote:Ever. NOOOOOO! Top tens are pointless! Choose ONE AND ONE ALONE! It's the way forward.Nick_O_Tine wrote:We should do a Top Ten... to choose just one song is kind of impossible... right now I would say:

@Johnny Boy - We'd end up with far too much sisters stuff...

@SG - And you haven't had your HL xmas party invite? Strange, but then I always wondered why you never came to the HL summer barbeque ...hallucienate wrote:You mean you haven't got yours yet? tsk tskSexygoth wrote:What with t-shirts and HL CDs, we'll next all be wearing little badges!!! LOL

Read Jim's initial post and his comments above. ONE song. Your ALL TIME favourite song. Doesn't have to be TSOM and quite frankly I would be suprised if it was. Your ABSOLUTE, ABSOLUTE, all time FAVOURITE. Have you never thought about it before? Do you need to think about it now?Jim wrote:NOOOOOO! Top tens are pointless! Choose ONE AND ONE ALONE! By the looks of it, we'll produce an album before the Sisters do...Johnny Boy wrote: And once we've got enough for a double CD, all we need is a volunteer to source and burn the tracks.

It's not that I'd never thought about it. Of course I did. Many, many times. Only to conclude I couldn't come up with an answer. i even collected my own "best of" love songs, balads, female singers, male singers, songs about rage, songs about sadness, you name it. There's simply too much music on my mind.Johnny Boy wrote:

True. And unecessary. We all know we love the Sisters, that's why we are all here. It would be more interesting to collect our favourite songs other than the Sisters.Jim wrote: NOOOOOO! Top tens are pointless! Choose ONE AND ONE ALONE! It's the way forward.
