OK, deep breath...
I found this place quite a while ago and have been lurking, as it were, every now and again eyeing up the weeding section thinking "Hmmm, that looks interesting"...
An introduction? I got into the Sisters by hearing "Alice" at what they used to call "Alternative nights" back in late 84 / early 85 and then was completely blown away by the "Whistle Test" appearance. Vividly remember going out that night wearing rayban style sunglasses even though the sun had long gone down. Never got to see the Sisters live, I recall seeing an ex school colleague in the pub and telling him about the RAH show and him replying "Great, we'll go, my brother'll drive, give me a ring". I never did call but saw the same lad later and he did indeed go, I regretfully think of that each time I watch "Wake". Spent some of the best nights of my younger years watching The m*****n but don't hold that against me.
To be honest on finding this site I was surprised by the amount of live Sisters activity there has been since "Vision Thing" - I'm very much a "FALAA" era boy - but in time I'd like to get hold of some this "newer" stuff.
So, does anybody object if I request copies of a couple of things I'd like to hear? On the off chance of it being of any interest I have a large (250 ish) collection of Kiss bootlegs which are always there to be shared...
Newbie intro / Question
Welcome Timmac
Top tip if you're going for the weeding straight away.
Do it in little bits, as I think folks have been burnt before by newbies requesting tons of weeds & then just disappearing.

Well...You've gone about it in the right way for a start. Nice one.
Welcome to Heartland.
Do you have anything you'd like to offer up for weeding yourself pehaps (other than Kiss)?

Thanks for the comments.
I don't think I have anything that's not on the weeding list so have nothing to add. I appreciate the etiquette of starting out on these sites, to be honest there's not much on the list upto 1985 I wouldn't want a copy of but one or two stand out as things I really like to hear.
As for Kiss, well I love 'em, for my sins, and you know what's it's like - once you start collecting where do you stop?!! (I also appreciate they are the most ridiculously stupid band ever...)

if you've got a halfway decent web connection, a good suggestion would be see what is still available to download via the sharing section.
that way you could boost your collection without stretching the goodwill of the weeding fraternity
just be aware that due to the nature of rapidshare and other d/l sites like that, some of the older 'shares' probably wont be valid anymore. start with the newer ones

Welcome onboard!
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

That was my first thought as well. How about sending you some stuff as long as you promise to keep Kiss on a safe distancemh wrote:And you were doing so well up until that point...Timmac wrote:I have a large (250 ish) collection of Kiss bootlegs which are always there to be shared...

Yeah, I've checked out sharing section recently and thought I'd better say hello before diving in. The Nijmegen show is there I think as are the WEA mixes and some others with good reputations.
I've already got Newcastle 85, that is a real goodie.
Thanks again.
