Being brave is coming home at 2am half drunk, smelling of perfume, climbing into bed, slapping the wife on the arse and saying,"right fatty, you're next!!"
Not from the wife then?Pat wrote:Worlds worst dad card and a handwritten poem.
Daddypooh I hate you etc.
What's she going to be like when she's a teenager?

Surprised my dad when he came back from his Morning Run (no, really ) by wrapping his pressie (Stephen Hawking book) up in brown paper and doing fake handwriting on it so that it looked like one of the packages he recgularly receives through the Scandinavian Philatelic Society (he's almost as much of a fan of STAMPS as I am of Einstuerzende Neubauten, that's where I get my anoraky-ness from). He was really delighted when he opened it And he loved his soppy card with the little penguin on it as well
I made a real effort this year to make both Mother's Day and Father's Day extra special, after putting my parents through some terrible grief when I was "ill" last year (not that they drag it up against me one bit, they're just so glad I've got so much better)... I've always been really close to them but that period + the usual getting older has made me appreciate them even more if that's possible. Anyway, my effort was worth it. My dad said it was the best father's day he'd ever had
Slightly happy!

There's a man with a mullet going mad with a mallet in Millets
Yay!
Took mine for a slap-up meal, fed them till they burst, and did some serious hand-in-pocket for some other stuff they needed. Always a pleasure to give back after what they've given.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

My dad surprised my wee nephews and me with tickets to a lovely, 1.5-hour steamboat ride around one of my favo(u)rite places on earth, so I surprised him with a Toblerone (HA! Whaddaya know? And what is it with you Brits and that confection, anyway?! ) and some Ghirardelli choccies...and he's getting summat nice in the mail very soon, as well. Shhhh.
I left my heart in Ballycastle...
