Newbie with question...please don't bite!!

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Hi there! I'm new here & wanted to say "hello". I've read some of the posts and have found many to be either very informative or extemely hilarious. Kudos to all of you! :notworthy: Hope it's okay to ask a question. I figured if anyone will have an answer, it will be somebody on here. A guy recently told me that there is a version of Floodland that doesn't have the usual cover of AE & PM on it. Is this correct? If so, what does it look like & how does it differ from the normal version(inner sleeve different, etc?) If anyone knows anything about this, I'd appreciate the help! Thanks/Danke/MerciGracias!!!

sorry that's my limit for was to say "thank you!"

at least you said "Hi" first and that is to be commended :D

If there is an alt. cover of Floodland, I think it woulda surfaced in here by now.
I've yet to see one, so this "guy said" is talking arse, I think we can call this myth - BUSTED!

Thank you for the "welcomes" and I take the commendation from Mr. Blast as a compliment. Had manners drilled into me by the nuns at school!
And yes, for the record, they were all Sisters of Mercy...how ironic. As for the lp mentioned, he said it was a German issue with no picture sleeve, just a black sleeve with The Sisters of Mercy printed on it(with logo) and the lyric sheet. To me, this just sounds like he's missing the picture sleeve. However, I noticed in another post where some members have their collections posted, that there are mentions of a German issue with no picture sleeve. Any way to find out if his is the same? Thanks again for the help!!! The spouse & I appreciate it!

Maybe you are thinking of the CD promo of the album which came with a clear case with a black and white sticker on the front case, the album cover originally was going to be a map of europe with France removed! All copies of Floodland came with the normal Elrdritch and Patsy picture, I have 26 different copies of the vinyl LP and apart from language variations and other promotional gumpf they are the same, the only exception is the black label promo which either came in the standard sleeve or a plain black sleeve (depends on who supplied it)

Greetings back to all of you! :D

@weebles-a "floodland" is best described as New Orleans after a hurricane.

Hope all are enjoying your day!!

There's even a transparent edition, did you know? (That's when you've lost all sleeves.)

Once again, thanks for the nice reception!

@the-happening...thanks for making me not feel so bad for having 5 copies of that lp! which of course makes me wonder if I should give one to this guy so he can have a complete record

@Daisy...that transparent issue must only have been released in Amsterdam. :) Kind of like the US "Crystalline" version....that's the one you got when you had been up for 5 days and couldn't see which lp you were dumping your powder of choice on. Never had that one....always preferred to do that on VT.

Well....enjoy your Monday everybody!

Hiya

Yup, I'd say his "different" sleeve is just a missing sleeve, as illustrated by robertzombie.

Right, anyone up for proving the existence of the Loch Ness monster next?

(I've used that joke before, haven't I?)
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.
