MARES VIVAS REVIEW

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

HY

I´M BACK

so let see:

nothing new. 80 minutes gig, good show, good sound and a polite audience

set list(in order)

intro
doctor-detonation
crash and burn
ribbons
still (superb )
giving ground
first and last....
flood 1 (great)
alice
anaconda
dominion
summer
vision thing
will i dream
flood 2 (andrew lost his voice)
this corrosion(INSTRUMENTAL ANDREW TRY TO RECOVER THE VOICE)
lucretia (fantastic given the circustances)
snub nose (superb)
temple (almost no voice)

well the gig start superb good sound, good vocals. very powfull..
chris has a new guitar(it seems a gibson in color red) sound much better that the one that he had

nice opener: doctor jeep , and the mosh pit started very wild :innocent:

crash and burn sound great, and ribbons superb greta von´s hight tones

during first the ben guitar was a bit low in the mix but chris fixed it whit his new guitar the rythym guitar on first and last.. was superb.
still sounded great ,one of the song that i enjoyed most and von top on vocals

but i think that von was a bit ill. I DIDN´T SEE HIM TO SMOKE A CIGAR IN THE WHOLE GIG. and from summer on he start to loose the vocals, after summer played vision thing he did his beast and in this song it wasn´t bad at all BUT DURING FLOOD 2 ufff the hight tones

it better not to do it if you don´t have voice(when you hear the recording you´ll understand me)

and during this corrosion von didn´t sing only the boys in the chorus..
it was quite strange. seeing this corrosion one of my favorite track

but after that giving the circustances LUCRETIA WAS GREAT, ONE OF THE BEST LIVE VERSION THAT I HEARD

top nite out was stunning and in temple almost no voice

i enjoyed a lot . the crowd were quite polite and aplaused them

after the sisters PETER MURPHY WAS STUNNING, SUPERB TOP NITE OUT

great recording i got from that festival :innocent: :innocent:

Thanx for feeding the weird, Diego!

So basically they're still in the Silver Bullet-setting?!
Can't say it's a surprise of course... but I hope they add something to the show next week in Tienen.

Would love to hear the recording though

Thank you for the review, dtsom.

I hope he keeps off the Marlboros and avoids speaking for the next week or so.

Hopefully see you all in Tienen - and, while a karaoke This Corrosion would be unusual (save for most London gigs, obviously), hopefully it will be the full band version Saturday next.

Hope the heartlanders out there enjoyed it.

Thanks for the review!

But to be honest disappointing news. I don't know what is worse - that he lost his already weak voice once again or that the setlist obviously cannot be changed. Sad.

Well enjoy Belgium those of you who are going there, and who knows, it might get better!

if Von lost his voice after a 80-months during gig, OK. But not after a 80 minutes during gig. Thanks for the review and hope you had a nice time, but in the 'real world' (or whatever Matrix the non-fans and other festival visitors are in) this is unbelievable and a sad gig.

It's a f**ked up thing that only one show in a dead era means this.

Hmm, didn't mom tell drugs make you gasp for air?

yeah I was thinking the same, I wasn't there so I can't say how the audience was like but 80% of the people who attend concerts would simply not take this sh!t.
not a lot of changes in the setlist but we knew that before the gig right?

only one more question, did they bring new T-Shirts? ;D

if it was mic problem he could swap another or/and one of Chris or Ben mic.

thanks for the sad review, Diego. after listening last year boot. from Zotageen i know that :von: got serious problem with voice, but i thought that he's gonna do something with this. i was wrong. we know that he knew that before the gig, lack of cigarettes proofs that.

any pics. ?

I'd better go to Waregem instead of Tienen next weekend, or so it seems... :|

Just saw Depprocksfarfar's YouTube videos and I am really disappointed. I am even wondering what Von is still doing on stage :| Mumbling incoherent words and yelling all the other times. Lots of smoke and a machine thudding away have to steer the spectator away from what is obviously a below-zero stage performance.

Same as it ever was, I know, but maybe I outgrew this all in favor of people who care for a decent sound and an energetic gig... :|

ANYHOO, still going next weekend, only if it were for a nice Bar-B with some cool people! :D

but on the other hand; let's not forget that Lorca Rock last year was a waste and that Zottegem, in my opinion, rocked well.
