Leeds Lodgings For A Lady?

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

a very good friend of mine is starting her first year at leeds uni in september and is yet to find accomodation; however she is urgently in need of moving to the area asap /in the next fortnight or so due to a deteriorating relationship with her frankly victorian jailer of a landlord/boyfriend.

all she requires is a room in a rented shared house / squat/ bedsit where she is allowed to have her (phenomenally cute) staffordshire bull-terrier puppy to live and occcassionaly smoke cigarettes without any of said landlord's smack-head mates coming round and robbing her. she's got money up front and a full grant lurking in the wings.

she is (probably) house-trained and will only get uncontrollably and happily drunk if encouraged.
can't vouch for her taste in music ("new model who?" "the sisters of mercy? aren't they goths?") but 26 year-old pagan-hippy chicks are a law unto themselves....but did i mention that she is a very good friend of mine?

anyone who knows of anything or anyone please PM me. and i'll owe you one. :notworthy:

...And I'll gladly point her away from boozers full of grumpy locals

You never know, we may just bump into one-another on the mean streets of Headingley. Top Clue: I'm the one in black pushing the pink buggy

To be honest, the puppy might be a problem for rented accomodation; as we found out with the dogfiend, a 'no pets' clause seems to be pretty standard in most letting agreements.

Seconded, I'd say 80 to 90% of both singular landlords and agencies are anti-pet.

I'll keep my eyes peeled - I found a roommate through the LJs, so recommend she try that as well.

Luck!

you'd think, wouldn't you, that landlords would prefer to have dogs protecting their properties for them.
