....but in all seriousness, I'm with you on this one. Not a hero as such but I'm a great fan of his writing. An inspiration for me personally - he was very honest at the cost of coming across as a pig (and he certainly was one a lot of the time). Also check out (his hero) John Fante.

Oh, and just because you like his writing (which is excellent), doesn't mean you should idolise him as a "hero".
