the new one has been launched today after weeks of testing. apparently they've ignored all the testers' concerns and just gone ahead. it's a pile of s**t!

shut the f*ck up. i'm quite capable of knowing whether a forum is workable.
marky - aaghhh! it doesn't do anything it did, or that it needs to! can't see a lot of people bothering with it now.

If they won't listen to people's concerns, there'll soon be a website that does.

it'd be a very dedicated bunch who offered all the services that tes does. did.
a couple of months ago they terminated the contracts of the experts who gave advice to people on forum - for new teachers, on ofsted inspections, etc. that caused a bit of an uproar.

you go ems! she knows okay and what i know and that from a teacher, this lady is as are a few of them... come on...
okay as forum users on the internetty world...but for heavens sake...if a teacher's forum is being formed anywhere the said teachers don't have the jest of teaching, as it takes up most of your time...where do they find the time to post? (besides all the holidays)
...god could you imagine the parents as lurkers seeing what teachers are saying about your children! not safe imho!

people are very careful NOT to identify themselves, schools, etc... there are tales of members being disciplined after what they've posted, and not in malice, either. at least one has been dropped in it by colleagues, even though the school wasn't identifiable by anyone else.

no, you can be very cagey. the one i'm thinking about was about a teacher who was talking about how her headteacher watched everyone leave the carpark to see who wasn't staying late. all she said was that she left at a certain time every day, and her car was quite distinctive, so she couldn't slip out. she never identified even where in the country she was - but a colleague shopped her to the head.
glad i don't work there.
there is a lot of work and swapping ideas/resources on there, it's not ALL rubbish. honest!

oh shame so she got into trouble from what she had posted? so their are people watching the teachers.
if you are working together sharing ideas and resources i'm sure that's not rubbish at all indeed sweetie.
reading the thread where this came from it seems that tes doesn't really read or listen to the problems linkying the different forums together etc.
that's too bad if it's such a big project to help the education system and the idea of teachers sharing and helping each other.
you aren't ems there too are you?
