I always understood that it was Rough Trade which promoted it again in 1982, after Body Electric came out, and that they put the flyer in with it. I've never heard of half the stock being destroyed - surely if they were handed to RT that wouldn't have happened?bismarck wrote:Mine's pretty minty, got it in 84 for about $40 via mailorder. About 500 were destroyed the second year of release by accident, so only 500 maximum are in circulation. Of these, many have surely disappeared over time. The rarer copies have the labels on the correct side, i.e., the head+star side plays Damage Done, while the "text" side plays Watch and Home of the Hitmen. Most copies play reverse labels (mine does). There was also a version that came with a small flyer inserted into it when Merciful Release had a stock sale (82? 83?) to try and sell off the remaining copies which no one cared enough to buy upon release.
There are supposed to be 1,000 of the Jap 're-pressing' IFAIK.
