F&L&A 92 Remaster Vinyl?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

is that an official release though? digital remastering for release on cd was very much just that: i can't think why a format that was being phased out would be deserving of such pointless attention from an industry hell-bent on killing vinyl.

either way round, the ONLY version of FALAA worth having is the one on the first vinyl release (remastered for last years cd re-release) with the fffftt! snorting sound before the title-track (start of side 2 in t'good ol' days).

"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I have Suicide's first album "digitally remastered" with a bonus disc and both sides of Keep Your Dream/I Remember. That remaster was released on 2CD and 2LP, and I have both (as I've said on some other thread).
So it probably is official.

i 'think' the mastered version had the 'original' CD mixes on, which are different than the original LP. to further confuse, the mix of NTTC is [ever so slightly] different than any other mix [including the 'mastered' CD versions]

..and yes, it was an official release, i have a promo knocking around somewhere

Definitely official, I have one too from back in the day (played once then flung in a corner in disgust).
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Is the Germany 1992 CD simply remastered Japanese Mixes or all new mixes?

Is the Germany 1992 vinyl a remastered Germany 1985 vinyl or the same audio as the Germany 1992 CD?

Your answer includes that the Germany 1992 CD and the Germany 1992 vinyl are the same audio, doesn't it. Thanks dtsom. :)

The 92 remaster contains mixes from a combination of sources; some Japanese and some original. I haven't heard the 88 reissue in a long time, but so far as I remember it was also from a combination of sources, but not quite the same as that used in 92 (ARAAHP was different I think).

The only one containing the full set of Japanese mixes is the Japanese release.
