AND HE'S f**kING RIGHT GODDAMMIT!
A real outrage indeed. And another reason for a band to kick their label...

Sadly, iTunes only deals with labels. Try to release your music on there and you'll get a polite mail, telling you to get in touch with a label to have your songs released on iTunes via them. Apple sucks corporate ccok just like the rest of them. Still, it is in a band's interest to have their songs available on there, as it's the most used digital outlet.
Anyway, this is indeed an outrage.

Set up a label of your own. Mish manager did that for the last batch of releases for the band.
I can see Aplle's viewpoint. If they are going to deal with individuals putting stuff up on their system they'll be opening a can of worms. They need to deal with the professionals to keep it all running.

Totally not true
(last linky only works when iTunes is installed )
It is not free, granted, but it costs you 25 dollar or so, and that's bloody cheap, innit?

Fat Bob rails against medium sized pizzas
‎"We will wear some very loud shirts. We will wear some very wrong trousers."
I read this on the official site the other day, but have to say that having heard the disgrace that is "Hypnogogic States", old Liz Taylor lookeelikey should stand by for some flaming coming his way.
Not only does he push the LP out another month, he allows a bunch of emo wannabies to fcuk up not just one of his records, but 4 of them & then stick them all on 1 expensive coffee coaster.
It is good to see him tear strips off the record company quite colourfully & publicly though.
Should have stayed with Fiction TBH.

We've noticed that too, Bob.

You know, there's a certain point in one's life--let's call it "adulthood"--where certain fashions just look ridiculous. As Jello Biafra once put it: "A hairstyle's not a lifestyle/imagine Sid Vicious at 35."

This thread is now about making snide comments about Fat Bob's appearance.

Er back to Fat Bob.
I really enjoyed his tirade, but I don't think it will get him very far.
They're prolly contracted up to the eyeballs with the record company & so don't have much say.
Another thing. RS was advocating the use of video & music on youtube & as soon as someone put a Sleep When I'm Dead vid up (the tune with a montage of Cure images actually), Universal stomped all over it, had it removed & issued everyone & their dog with an infraction notice.
Right hand doesn't know what the left hand's doing

You'd think a band of the Cure's stature would be able to pretty much tell their record company The Way Things Are, wouldn't you? OK, it's not 1990 anymore, but they're still living legends with quite a bit of artistic integrity left, as well as a lot of respect and admiration from the young 'uns.Pista wrote:They're prolly contracted up to the eyeballs with the record company & so don't have much say.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
What I've seen & heard on the tour so far:mh wrote:Sounds like the lyrics on their new LP!
Underneath The Stars
A Boy I Never Knew
Baby Rag Dog Book
& the 4 singles are actually really very good.
Especially Baby Rag Dog Book (it really rocks)!
I have high hopes indeed.
But this remix EP makes Mixed Up sound like a masterpiece.
A friend on cureconnections described it as NIN lite

DEAR...
I f**king DESPAIR
AGAIN
HYPNAGOGIC STATES EP IS NOW UP ON UK ITUNES...
5 TRACKS FOR £7.99?
FOR FUCKS SAKE!
AND THE PACKAGE IS COMPLETEY MISSING THE EXTRA BONUS TRACK (65DOS ALT REMIX OF "THE ONLY ONE")
SO
YOU CAN BUY THE FOUR REMIXES BY 30STM/AFI/MCR/FOB INDIVIDUALLY FOR 79P EACH...
BUT YOU ONLY GET THE 65DOS "EXPLODING HEAD SYNDROME" REMIX OF ALL FOUR SINGLES IF YOU PAY £7.99 FOR "THE ALBUM"...
IE YOU ARE BEING ASKED TO PAY £4.83 FOR THE 65DOS REMIX... !!!
WHO THE f**k IS GOING TO PAY THIS AND NOT FEEL TOTALLY RIPPED OFF?
IT'S NOT A f**king ALBUM!
IT'S A 5 TRACK EP
AND YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO GET AN EXTRA FREE TRACK (THE 65DOS REMIX OF "THE ONLY ONE") IF YOU BUY IT AS A 5 TRACK EP
AND ITS SUPPOSED TO COST LESS IF YOU BUY IT AS A 5 TRACK EP THAN IF YOU BUY THE 5 TRACKS INDIVIDUALLY...
THAT IS WHAT WAS AGREED
THIS IS SO TOTALLY WRONG
I REALLY DO f**king DESPAIR
WHY IS IT SO INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO GET ANYTHING DONE RIGHT?
PLEASE FIX THIS
