My wife and I are about to leave (it's just after noon here) for the Idle Rich, for lunch, drinks, and a generally relaxing afternoon. Drunk? No. Sober?
No.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

<----- mildly relaxed with a slight blur moving in from the headland, a blowy rant with intermittent drool is forecast for later this evening, so take cover

does that mean we are the only ones who get the pleasure of hearing you singing the song about the moon?boudicca wrote:I get my "most drunk" when I'm with you lot.
Actually, I only get drunk when I'm with you lot
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

The effect Sultan mentioned earlier has taken the fun out off such nights for me since I was 25, so I hardly ever drink anymore. As a result I get pished in no time at all as soon as I smell alcohol. Remember Lier, anyone?
But there were nights that were worse..

But most nights, I don't even have time to hang out here with you lot! I get home from my 2nd job, have a little bite to eat, and go straight to bed. I'm exhausted. No point in getting pished when I have to be up again at 6!
