Can anyone recommend some linux video editing software - preferably available through (k)ubuntu's Adept Package Manager?
I don't need anything too flashy - just the ability to import from a video8 camera, slice it up with some editing capabilities, something to let me adjust the colour saturation/contrast levels, and output the resulting digital file to some common file format that can be uploaded to YouTube etc
Linux video editing software question

There are video editing facilities in Blender, but I've never used them.

Thanks! I'm running 64-bit linux on a decent cpu with s**t of RAM. Resource-hunger is not a problem. Can't be as bad as Windows Vista, anyway

This is one of the reasons I stopped using Linux(that and music editing).
Though it appears you have a lot more choice these days.

Thanks for all the tips.
I was thinking of installing Ubuntu Studio on a spare computer (I have 3 spare computers!) with Cinelerra.
