Rhombus in Belgian Goth Mag Shock!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

There you go ;)

Gothic Rock from Northern England. 'Remembrance Day' is the fifth release and the first real Rhombus album, containing ten songs (40 minutes playing time): six remakes and four new songs.
Don't expect deep, heavy vocals in Fields/Sisters style; the singer has a higher-pitched, somewhat nasal voice. Two female guest vocalists are regularly duelling with the singer in the best March Violets style.

Due to the vocals and the sublime, sparkling and razor-sharp guitar work, Rhombus heavily reminds me of the Chams and The Bolshoi. On the one hand, Rhombus sound quite 'Old Skool', then again they also sound very fresh and contemporary. The band toys with the gothrock heritage in a creative way. For that matter, they are not unlike Frank The Baptist, for example, a band doing generally the same thing. And yes, actually this is one of the best references we can find. Rhombus also have very strong song material. "Follow Through Lover" and “If You Haven’t Been Shot (You Should Be) are, plain and simple, fantastic songs, built around sublime melodies. On top of that, their songs often tend to be irresistably funny (what about that "goth and humor" prejudice?), just listen for example to the sheer hilarious lyrics to “You Only Want Me When You’re Drunk. Rhombus are once again living proof that gothic rock is all but dead!
