Economy Crash And Burn + Andrew turns 50 = New Album?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

He asked "When it's over, will I dream?"

I think it'll all be over very soon.

So the question is:

Will we get that new album before it's over.

Or after?

Because I think waiting until after at this point might be too late.

Please Andrew, with so much going wrong right now, please be Merciful ;D

Not release yet besides the internet download of Suzanne (live).

A shame too. I've been debating if Susanne (sic) live on the official site being a MONO only release was a reference to the Phil Spector "wall of sound" production standard that made Elvis (not Wittgenstein) so famous.

Either way I digress, see above for my only request before the "pink and white and steely blue" sets in and it truly becomes "so dark all over Europe".

Please Andrew.

Not judging you Prescott but sometimes I feel the urge of saying it again.

Been hearing remarks like that for quite some years now. :|
The Silver B would finally be the farewell thingy according to lots.

Well...They're still around with so many opportunities to see them but no....
why should one enjoy what is given through the years when complaining, questioning and so on is so much easier. :urff:

I wonder if some even can enjoy listening to old stuff and the stuff one can get get through trading, sharing, weeding, Ebaying.

One hardly ever gets to see Andrew off stage but Ben and Chris are around after almost every gig. I wonder how long it takes before they get effin' sick of the same question over and over again. There have been many gigs since 2006; there have been few questions.

I would travel many hours and pay many quids to get a new release in my hands. It has almost become that most beautiful dream of which you can hardly imagine that it ever comes true.

A release.... See what happens or not. ;D
If it happens I will go crazy. If it doesn't; I will enjoy and go crazy like I have been enjoying for many years.

But yeah.....glasses always seem to be half empty these days.

Not only "Sisters' wise".

if i take a serious listen to the latest Cure album, i'm thankful that Von hasn't released similar pile of s**t records in the last ten years.

(This seems a non-argument since Motorhead brings out a loud album every year, but that's another category of toxic human beings).

Ozpat:

Thanks, no offense taken. I didn't mean the Sisters would be over soon. I meant the whole damned world is falling into geopolitical and economic strife right now and before the types of things Mr. Eldritch has spent a lot of time talking about himself start to happen (see his interview on Hal's site about his inspiration for Dominion/Mother Russia and Flood I from 1988). That's all.

I really don't think Andrew will ever throw in the towel. I would merely appreciate, as would everyone on here, him to go ahead and release some new stuff before we can't afford milk and bread, much less a new CD. You can criticize me for saying this all you want, but I have watched wealth evaporate in just 4 weeks. All the major markets have lost close to 40% of their value in the last year alone. Hong Kong dropped another 12.7% last night. Seriously.

I wasn't talking about the Sisters when I said "I fear it could all be over soon." I actually think that since Ben and Chris have come along he has just gotten started, especially with his latest choice of an opening act, Hypernova. With them he gets to prove a point or two about not judging an entire group of people because of their corrupt leaders and Hypernova has actually gotten more exposure on NPR and The New York Times than the Sisters have in quite a long time. So he has also found a way to attract new fans. Which this band seems to need desperately. I hope Andrew can go huge again and go out with a bang, not a whimper.

Yes, if Axl can do it, so can Andrew and I seriously think "good things" come to those who wait. It would be amazing if they toured together!
