Hello everyone! I finally got a thirteen hour nap in...
as I only slept 1 hour after the gig (due to post-show coffee
for the ride home)!

Anyway, it was post-punk-goth-rokin'-drum and bass night at the Town
Ballroom! The club is a caverous pit with two wrap-around upper tiers and
the main floor before the stage. It was definitely up close and personal
no matter where you stood. When the Sisters took the stage and the
smoke machines filled the barely ventilated venue, it felt like something
special was about to begin... and it did.

Three silhouetted figures emerged from shadows and blasted thunder all
around us... sweet bliss! ;D

I'm glad you all enjoy the recording... sorry not the whole thing...
but if :von: does his 50th birthday tour I will be ready!

Also, I bet the show sounded great up front (according to your reviews)
but my friends Mr. Lamb, Mr. B and I agreed that it sounded more like
a** and were pissed at the sound guy who did not seem know how to
adjust levels correctly for a mechanized rock band... but it did improve
as the show progressed.

The drum/bass machine was cranked way above the guitars and vocals.
I believe "pummeling" was a word already used here... seriously. Even
when :von: mentioned that he could hear no bass, only kick drum, I was
surprised as bass and drum was all I could hear!

From where I was standing (center of the upper tier), the sound was
fffwhump-bumpfff-fffwhump-bumpfff-fffwhump-bumpfff-mumble-
mumble and a mumble-mumble-fffwhump-bumpfff-fffwhumpbumpfff
...
name that tune people!

When recording, Mr. B and I made the decision to use the bass filter, which
was a good idea as I believe the sound of the recording is much clearer
than that of actual show. I cannot put more bass in the recording without
blowing my sub-woofer with the kick drum! :innocent:

Anyway -- and I apologize if I am refering to a fellow Heartlander, but
I doubt it, as I dedicate my recording the the a**hole outside of the gig
watching people buy Sisters merchandise through the window and yelling:
"You're giving money to a fake band... they are not the Sisters of Mercy!"

Shut the f*** up... somebody obviously bought a ticket... go home and
listen to FALAA again as if Vision Thing never happened!
By this logic I assume Pink Floyd ceased being a real band when
Syd Barrett was kicked out... and again when Roger Waters left!

The Sisters of Mercy is a real band with :von:, his wired-in machines and
and hired guns... and they rock! Enough said. Peace. ;D

BTW -- I liked :von:'s little shout-out for Obama! Hate us or not people,
pray for the U.S. to soon elect a competent leader! :notworthy:

In the banter, Eldritch says he hears a "still small voice" saying "Obama..." A still small voice is how the KJV Bible refers to God's vocie... I believe it's God speaking to Elijah, the greatest of OT prophets, in 2nd Kings. Anyone recall more specifics? I have not mine Bible in front me.

Glad to see that it's still worthwhile writing songs about Isaac 8)

After some casual YouTubing, I'm very much hoping to hear Logic somewhere down the line...

What's conspiratorial about that? It was clearly a Biblical reference on Von's part. It's from I Kings 19:11-13. Elijah is in the wilderness, and he looks for God in the great things (earthquakes, fire, etc) and God is not in them. He then hears God speaking in a "still, small voice."

Been wondering about the same thing, sunshine.

PS: In reference to sultan's sig, and not meaning to derail the thread, i'd like to point out to him that there is a reason it is called 'a society', without which you would not have what you have to begin with - so maybe from that direction you could start looking for an answer to your question.

You really don't want to get into this with me, and I have absolutely no desire to get into a discussion of anything with you.

Eh... "clearly" a biblical reference? I guess someone must've said in the bible 'Thank You' as well. So there's more biblical reference!

Von is a literate fellow. I doubt he'd use the phrase without it meant as an ironic allusion to Elijah. Seems pretty clear to me.
