I keep forgetting to mention the opening act, Hypernova. I hadn't heard of them prior to last night; Eva assured me, as the band took the stage, that they were fantastic. To say that she was correct would be a massive understatement. I'll be buying their album posthaste (forgot to grab a copy last night after the gig, dammit!)! 8) :notworthy: ;D \m/

Incidentally, Eggi: it was lovely meeting you! ;D

@Eva: Danke, lieber Freund. Ich liebe dich! :notworthy: I needed that chat and those hugs more than you can possibly know...

Eldritch as the new Bongo? Visits to the White House, amphetamines for the President's kids, and the Euro becoming a mandatory worldwide currency can only be a new LP away!

Seriously, sounds like it was an utterly fantastic and unforgettable night, so lucky those of you who were there, and here's looking forward to the recording! :notworthy:
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

quite a night, i must say!

i also was a bit floored by how good a mood Andrew was in after the Obama win. i never thought i'd ever see him sing with a massive smile on his face. as if he just couldn't control it! obviously lots of banter as well.

in addition to the National Anthem, did anyone else catch one of the guitarists (couldn't see which) playing a few seconds of Sweet Home Alabama just before arriving back on stage for one of the encores!?

and seriously, Vision Thing was blazing! with the band and everyone so pumped up, it seemed especially intense!
is it just me though, or did Andy get a bit pissed off at times. i'm thinking of during Flood II. he stepped away from the mic after saying something like, "Oh just play along with the game..." in a disgruntled voice.
not sure.
obviously it didn't last.

and yeah, the Toad's Place stage is pretty small, as is the club. it was pretty cool to see them on it!
glad a "special night" could happen here! that's a rarity for shows in CT!

Yes, you heard correctly; a couple of us were actually hoping he'd launch into a full-fledged Sissies version (well, sorta hoping...)!

No, it wasn't just you - I wondered if he was feeling lazy at times, and expected us to provide the choruses for him. Hey, I'd have done backup vocals if he'd asked! ;) :innocent:

Actually it was a frustrated, "oh, let's just play it again..." because the sound desk or light cues were all wrong. I confirmed this with Dave the Soundman after, who said the board was malfunctioning. But Ben and Chris just kept playing, so Eldritch just put on his game face and picked up the vocals. But he was clearly pissed, saying to the lighting engineer afterwards, "you're an evil little man."

Ahhhh. Well, colo(u)r me oblivious.

Then again, I was slightly starstruck and more than a bit giddy, so I don't feel all that bad... ;)

SINsister wrote: I don't have any photos, sadly, but Andrew was most definitely smiling last night. I promise to post more later (I'm stuck at work and running on 4 hours' sleep  :(), but what I've dubbed "Eldritch Presents: An Intimate Evening With The Sisters" was just perfect, in my book. Christ, what a night! ;D :notworthy: :von:
:notworthy: Whoohoo Sinnie, I'm so happy for you your night out was perfect, you deserve it babe! ;D
SINsister wrote:Though I doubt ol' Android was pissed off - he seemed elated, as a matter of fact! Rare form, great mood, lots of between-song banter. He kept passing his little laptop to us lucky f*cks in the front row (I kinda-sorta snatched it off him, at one point ), so that we could watch the U.S. election results in real-time. Seriously ass-kicking. \m/
Again :notworthy: you snatcher you! 8) Really sounds like this gig was a magical one!

I was grinning like an idiot throughout the set. Fortunately, I wasn't the only one.

The guy next to me was REALLY leaping around. This made me less miserable.

Yes it was. I went nuts after the Obamathon was over. And a little before, too.

Hooray for MS Paint, and rampant work-place time theft!!!

BTW: Do they typically use THAT much smoke in all of their sets?

Don't know about New Haven, but I thought they were quite restrained in NYC. I would have expected more, given that in 06 I was convinced he was using the smoke to cover the fact that he was smoking on stage (in contravention of NYC health codes). I didn't see him light up this time - anyone wondering whether he's...quit?

[Ahem] Ms. Strypiisox, did you not remember to pack my hug for the Delectable Sinistrist in your GoBag on Monday night?
