Retiring Vision Thing!?!

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Hello Heartlanders! 8)

It has been said that after the election of Obama as President of the U.S.,
that :von: mentioned the need to perhaps retire Vision Thing!

The election results are a welcome change... but I feel that Vision Thing,
although originally a jab at George Bush Sr., can also be interpreted as a
positive song... a rock anthem for change!

Think about it people...
What do we need to make our world come alive?
What does it take to make us sing?
While we're waiting for the next one to arrive?
One million points of light
One billion dollar Vision Thing
Also... did not the voters of the U.S. suddenly receive...
One blinding flash of sense
Just like the (new) president's
Well, I don't mind
Out of my mind
President Barack ... bring it on home...
yes we can... sha-la-la-la-la! ;D

BTW -- post 420!

No - let it serve as a warning: this could happen again!
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Vision Thing is a timeless classic! No way should it be retired. Though they could update it a bit....maybe do VT and then go into YCBTO....2 rock anthems in a row is never a bad thing :D

Oh please don't resurrect YCBTO!
We are all a thread away from war on that song alone.....

Maybe it is time for the big guns... should Black Planet finally be rolled out to celebrate instead ;D Hooray!

@Hom_Corleone(sorry if I spelled that wrong)...does that mean you agree?

@splintered-thing....I thought war was just a kiss away, not a thread!

Btw, what exactly am I missing here in regards to YCBTO? Could someone please explain so I can stop feeling lost and confused? :(

You Could Be The One... To some a classic rock tune with tongue-in-cheek 'rock god' :von: at his sarcastic best whilst to others a travisty. Choose wisely

 :notworthy: That works far better than I thought it would - the transition is really seamless.

I think this is where I admit, even as a newbie, that I always kind of liked YCBTO. Course I never really appreciated most of VT either until the past year or so - been listening to it a lot lately. It never sounded like Sisters to me - now it does sound like Sisters to me, just different, which is fine.

..leave it...it's not worth it....just walk away now.... :innocent:

We had all just about learned to live with each other after the fall out from the YCBTO appreciation society and subsequent fraction groups and now I fell old wounds are about to be re-opened!

Yes to keeping VT.
No to anything YCBTO related.
I hear her cry all day, all night
I hear her voice from deep within the wall
Made a cross from knitting needles
Made a grave from hoover bags
Especially for the woman in the wall

back on topic - vision thing is eternally relevant. wait till obama gets the lee harvey treatment from some cocKsuKKing w.a.s.p. moron and see who we get next...

besides -it really should be welded to the last slot, coming so perfectly after top nite out. :von:
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
