They try to put on a good show each time. But they're no machines, and behind each of their machines there's a human being. And there's the venue, too. I agree completely, but.... it does kind of happen too often.

After being here a while it becomes obvious why Ghostrider, Prescott and several other Heartlanders agree that
there is definitely a give/take symbiotic relationship between :von: and the crowd, which he has mentioned in the past...

The Sisters with a great audience is a drug for :von: ...
a pure *cough* adrenaline high!
:von: wants us to rock out, lose our minds and have fun! :wink:

I witnessed this in Toronto 2006... at the Kool Haus!
My pal MrB and were both up front getting utterly bastard groovy with
the old school industrial goth dance club crowd... what lovely bliss! :notworthy:

We were all "High tide... Wide eyed... " but far less than "Dread in monochrome"...
MrB wore an orange coat! :lol:

Anyway... the Buffalo crowd of 2008 was definitely more angst ridden...
I lived there many years -- so I know. :wink:
As I was recording... I did not go immediately to the front as I would
want to do. From the upper tier I could see the crowd before the band...
mostly just staring at them... :?

That's the annoying thing, s**t performance better than no performance. Although once every two years is quite enough for me now.
well.. if it's s**t performance you want every few years, maybe try being a fan of Laura Lynn or Gary Hagger.. :lol:

The show in Moscow in December, 2006, was also excellent! And I haven't been to any other... I can't afford going abroad for concerts, unfortunately... But I'll be there whenever they come to Russia!

I like you Dr.G but I for one am fed up being played for a patsy.
Andrew Taylor and his entourage are only any good to people who want them to be good and the odd old tune ("We haven't played in a while") flung into the set, doesn't cut it with me. Others grab at it like manna. Too old, too fooled again.

Wake up, look at the reviews on here, it's sub-standard.
It's horrible but eventually even you will realise we are getting a plain burger when we ordered a Big Mac.

Aha, the only thing I know for sure is that the Sisters' Moscow show is still my favorite rock concert though I've been to many different gigs. 8)

James Blast, maybe the problem is that you ordered Big Mac, and some of us - something tasty and healthy? :)

I like The Sisters. I love the setlists, few new songs, few old songs. Chatty Eldritch or quiet Eldritch I'll accept both. What I find difficult to accept are the level of complaints about been able to hear his voice or not.

I'll still go once in a while, but I'd also like to air my opinions on a Sisters forum without the Uber fans having a go at anything that is remotely negative. That, is also quite annoying.

That said, I'm still looking forward to seeing them in the Dam.
But I know where I'll be urinating if I can't hear the dear sausages' voice

@Gollums Cock: Although I might sound harsh sometimes in my replies, I don't mind people airing an opinion that's completely contradicting mine. Regarding gigs though I prefer reading opinions of people who've actually been to these gigs. :wink:

@all who are interested: Listening to available recordings of the current US tour I've had one or two additional thoughts:
a) I can see now where the people come from who complain about Von not being loud enough. It is true, that his voice isn't clearly above the rest. It's just that for me that's how the Sisters sound today, and I like it, although it was different in the past.
b) I've also noticed that not all the gigs have been as loud and clear as the one in Buffalo. Could it be that they "protect" Von's voice by gradually mixing the overall sound more quiet in order to keep the voice "alive" for the rest of the tour?

I had n't been to these gigs, I was just airing an opinion that there were always complaints.

Well I haven't been to any of the US shows but I have a pretty good idea of what I can expect at the European ones - and I'm very much looking forward to seeing them play again! I certainly don't have a problem with people who don't share my enthusiasm or opinion on Sisters gigs these days. However I DO have a problem when said people take every opportunity to ram their disagreements down our throats and can't read a few positive posts without implying that those of us who still do enjoy Sisters gigs are merely deluding ourselves. Who the f**k are you to judge what we should and shouldn't like? Sorry James, but given your well-documented dislike of present day Sisters shows, I don't understand why you continue to torture yourself by reading the reviews. Nobody's holding a gun to your head you know :(

First time I've heard someone talk positively about the energy of a Toronto crowd.... but yeah, that was a great show. Still the best I've seen I think.
The following night in Montreal was remarkably different.... (though I still enjoyed that too.)
