How it could have been...

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Six.BySeven is one of my favorite bands and they are a prime example of how it should be done.

They have their own recordlabel and studio (which is the singers basement), they record all their albums there, and they sound perfect, just like a top-notch pro-tools studio.
The thing is though, Six.BySeven releases everything they do. Formed in 1998 (yes, 8 years AFTER Von clammed up). And they have since then released:

6 full albums.
3 full albums of unreleased stuff
16 singles
3 live album (the last one from Glastonbury 2008)
1 album of when they rehearsed for a tour in the studio (just think about that one for awhile, a rehearsal with studio sound)

and the singer who owns the studio and writes the songs have also released:

5 solo albums
2 solo albums under a different name

I am not saying that Sisters should have done all this, but maybe a third? a fourth? something?

And yeah, Sisters was probably bigger than Six.BySeven... 10 years ago. Or 18 years ago.
