D Mode - Wrong. Great video

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Will save the treat for later. Not seen/heard. Not going to the O2 gig, either - though I'm sure I've read an interview where DM say they're going to come back for more UK dates sometime.

Love Depeche Mode - heard this last week. I find it really amazing that after all these years (of consistently releasing albums) they still make great music - I've got pretty much all their stuff album wise (missing quite a few singles/remixes though) and while there are usually a song or two that miss on each album, I always find a LOT to like. Haha I'm even wearing a DM shirt in my avatar. :)

I've often heard DM referred to as the "gateway drug" for goth/industrial - and I have to say that was the case with me. :oops: I was listening to a lot of punk/indie, New Order and Joy Division - I started listening to them, then it was the Cure, then Bauhaus, Wax Trax industrial, and Siouxsie, then Sisters, Front 242 - and so on, getting farther and farther and deeper and deeper into it. :lol:

What I like about the song are most of the lyrics and Gahans singing, the melody is ok. But the music is bland (very weedy drums), which has been the case for their last couple of albums for me. They could have a fuller sound on the albums. But live it could be alot better with more balls.

I like the song, although I'll want to listen to it a few more times. I missed out on tickets for Tour Of The Universe, which I had intended to go to so hopefully they'll do more dates.

I saw them in London on the Touring The Angel expedition, which was a mind blowingly good gig!
Nationalise the f**king lot.

listening to that it feels like the first time gahan has raised his voice above that dreary whisper in, ooooh, at least 10 years.

nice. and certainly better than the criminally mis-labelled exciter stuff or the patchy ...angel material.

a deeply unsettling video though :|

The video is really good, but still i can t find a reason to like the songs.
Almost everything after "songs of.." sounds passionless and made just out of habit.

I remember Alan Wilder (had to mention him eventually, I mean come on :lol: ) saying that Gore would be quite happy for his songs to go out as little more than demos. That's pretty much what happens now I reckon. He can write a tune but is very limited musically. Gahan's singing is the most passionate sounding thing about them, but the lyrics are still good. Obviously Fletch offers nothing musically.

Gahans solo stuff has a fuller sound to it.

Well ...Gahan is a great singer (I love his voice) , Martin is a very good songwritter and doing also a good job musically and I just can't explain why Fletcher has always been insignifiant for me.

Pete Tong played the remixed version by DJ Thin White Duke ( who is in reality Stuart Price who in turn is Madonna's keyboardist/ arranger and also a member of Les Rythmes Digitales..phew)

Cracking tune, back to basics and had that good ol' D.M plinky plonky feel to it from back in the day!

Shame Eldritch once described them, when the Sisters supported them, as Thunderbird Puppets, whilst on stage at Milton Keynes mu-hahahahaha

Lyrics are really basic if not cheating.

Music isn't all that bad, bit pre Black Celebration.

Better then the previous stuff but then they really haven't impressed me since Wilder left.

Depeche Mode start their world "Tour of the Universe" May 10th in Israel and finish this European leg on July 12th in Spain. They play 36 dates, which features 26 massive stadium shows and includes a London show May 30th at the 02 Arena that sold out in less than an hour.

Their 23-date North American tour starts July 24th in Toronto before finishing in Florida September 5th. The band will then be returning to Europe for more dates, including these new UK shows.

Their eagerly anticipated new album "Sounds of the Universe" is released April 20th (UK) and includes their glorious new single "Wrong". The stark video for "Wrong" was directed by Patrick Daughters who previously worked with Liars, Kings of Leon and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
